Regardless of religious affiliation, nearly all of us can agree that babies are cute. That is, as long as they’re not fussing, crying, or making a mess. Okay, sometimes even those things are cute, depending on your perspective. But, the baby in this video is very cute, and I think that very few people would dispute that fact.
The cutie in the video is barely old enough to sit with the family at mealtime. But, she’s there, sharing dinner with her parents. Before anyone at the table eats, Dad proclaims that it’s “time to pray” and the little girl looks as if she’s been part of this routine for years, rather than just a few months.
She joins hands with those next to her, her parents I presume, and then closes her eyes, waiting so very patiently for the prayer to end. She even chimes in with her little “Amen” once the prayer is finished. It’s absolutely adorable, how she mimics the actions of her parents. As she grows older, she’ll begin to truly understand the importance of those pre-meal moments. Now the family can enjoy their meal!
Perhaps your family prays each night at the dinner table, perhaps they do not. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is the moments that you spend with your family, whether they are your blood family or your “chosen family”. In a fast-paced world where work, technology, and “being busy” are becoming increasingly important, we should remember to treasure those moments and routines that bring us together as a family and allow us to connect. You may only get together with your family once a week, once a month, or even once a year, but those moments are what stay with you.
