64-Year-Old Man Brings Judges To Their Feel With His Rendition Of “Don’t Stop Believin'”

All of us know of a song that when it comes on the radio, we immediately turn the volume up and start singing along. Maybe for you, it’s a sad country love song that reminds you of your ex or an energizing tune you know all the lyrics to. Either way, it seems we are built for music, or maybe music is built for us.

Regardless of when you were born, perhaps one of your favorite songs is Journey’s 1981 “Don’t Stop Believin,” which was featured on the band’s seventh album. This classic has been re-sung on many stages, and many have covered it in videos across the Internet. But, in case you haven’t found a rendition of the Journey song you love as much as the original, you might fall in love with Dan Lucas’ version on The Voice Senior Germany.

In the video of his The Voice performance, 64-year-old Dan is rocking blue jeans, a black shirt, long silver locks, and a scruffy beard. From the moment the music begins, the judges begin dancing. “Yes!” one of them calls out at the choice of song Dan is about to sing. But, besides his song choice, the performance itself is also worth a cheer!

In fact, as Dan sings just one line of the Journey tune, and the crowd already is cheering and slowly clapping along to the tune. So far, his performance is off to a strong start!

The stage really gets rockin’ when the squares of the dance floor underneath Dan’s feet start flashing, and the colored stage lights begin shifting and turning on and off. We already know the chorus is about to start, and he definitely nails it! After his routine, the singer gets a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience. Well done, Dan!

This rendition proves to us that age should not depict one’s interests, skills, or fashion sense. Age also shouldn’t stop one from pursuing their dreams whether it be going back to college or singing in front of the entire country on The Voice as Dan did.

I don’t know about you, but I think this is my favorite “Don’t Stop Believing” cover so far. Dan’s voice is strong, natural, and energizing. Apart from his nice voice, this man also knows how to put on an on-stage performance with confidence! That said, you won’t want to skip out on this Journey cover. Fortunately, you can watch and listen in the video below.
