When we hear that certain song on the radio, we can’t help but stop everything we’re doing. Conversations are put on pause, the thoughts racing through our mind come to a halt, and all of our attention goes straight to that song. We might dance. We may sing along. Perhaps we’ll do both. Or, sometimes we just sit back and listen closely while hushing everyone talking or making noise within the proximity of our favorite tune. Does any of this sound familiar?
But it’s not just us who experience the latter. Different videos surfacing the Internet showcase animals, from parrots to canines, going berserk when they hear a particular song. It’s viral videos like these that remind us just how universal music really is!
In yet another viral video, which has earned over 3,400,000 views to date, Honey the dog has her own musical tastes. The canine’s personal favorite artist? Michael Jackson, the King of Pop!
In the video filming her reaction, Honey is calmly sitting in the passenger seat of her rescue mom’s car as she’s driving. Everything seems normal, that is until Mom turns on the radio, and Michael Jackson’s 1991 hit, “Will You Be There,” begins to blare.
Instantly, the black-and-white dog begins to howl along as loud and as long as she can. Her owner in the driver’s seat, Melissa, can’t help but laugh as her furry friend deeply plunges herself into the tune.
Eventually, Mom tries to sing along too. However, Honey’s deafening singing is definitely taking the lead!
The dog may not be hitting all the right notes at the correct times, but let’s face it, Honey’s still got vocals! Perhaps she should pursue a career in singing. She won’t need a microphone when performing on stage, that’s for sure!
But really, can we blame the canine for loving MJ so much? The artist has provided us untarnished talent that’s completely irreplaceable. Both younger and older generations continue to relish in Michael Jackson’s gift of musical brilliance. Honey herself will continue to listen and sing along to his tunes too.
While we might find Honey’s singing hilarious, I think she can also teach us a little lesson. She reminds us that even if we don’t have the best singing voice, we shouldn’t sing merely to show off. Better yet, we should sing to exhibit our respect and passion for a song we love!
