Melissa Tonkin had just finished having dinner at a pizza parlor in Altoona, Pennsylvania when she heard a non-stop blaring car horn outside. Curiosity got the best of Melissa who decided to see what all the commotion was about. She followed the noise to a silver car and what she found inside had her lost for words: two Airedale Terriers who were obviously not pleased about being left to wait alone in the car! Apparently, the dogs’ owner returned soon after and explained to Melissa that her dogs “love going for rides, but apparently they don’t like waiting.” Seems accurate to me.
Now, I know what many of you dog lovers must be thinking because I was thinking the same thing. Were the dogs okay? Yes, apparently the incident happened in November when the weather was not hot enough to heat up the car. You can also see that she cracked the rear window open a little so that her dogs could get some fresh air. But remember, it’s incredibly dangerous to leave any animals or children alone in a car when it’s warm outside! You might think that you’ll only be gone for a few minutes but that car of yours can turn into an oven and it takes less than a minute before the temperature can rapidly increase to dangerous levels.
