Bride Dip-Dyes Her Wedding Dress To Add A Gorgeous Splash Of Colour… And A New Trend Is Born!

When it comes to wedding dresses, there’s no question which colour reigns supreme: white. A white wedding gown is meant to symbolize purity of the soul. But how did this tradition come to be? Not too surprisingly, it comes from the Victorian era. More specifically, it comes from Queen Victoria when she married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in the 1800s. At a time when red was the popular for brides, Queen Victoria decided to wear a lacy white gown. While she wasn’t the first royal to wear a white dress on her wedding day, she is credited with starting this tradition.

But just as Queen Victoria broke with tradition, many have at least relaxed the so-called rules on their wedding day. When Taylor Ann Linko was getting married, she decided that while she wanted a white dress, she also wanted a splash of colour. So she dip-dyed her wedding dress and after the internet saw her photos, a spectacular new trend was born!

Meet Taylor Ann Linko, the artist who wanted a touch of colour on her wedding day…
