Compilation Of Movie Dance Scenes To The Music Of “Footloose”

When the mood hits, there’s nothing like a little boogie-woogie to make you feel alive! A good dance session – whatever your experience – lifts your mood, releases endorphins and brings you to the present moment. You feel your body vibing and working together to create fluid movement.

Dancing is also an incredible de-stressor! It can even be as simple as moving your shoulders, snapping your fingers, or something like tapping your foot! If you feel like getting up from the couch or even taking a lesson or two, and really chucking all those inhibitions out the window, then, by all means, do it like no one is watching! Or maybe, you should do it like everyone is watching — that sounds better! You should own your moves regardless of whether or not you have two left feet. Right? Right!

In this fantastic five-minute video, you get to watch everyone dancing from all your favorite films! I watched this, and immediately signed up for some dance lessons. No, seriously! There’s something so inspiring about watching other people dance well. It makes you want to dance too! Don’t think you’re any good? Feel like you’ve got two left feet? Throw that thought out the window and get back to the basics, because after watching this, you’ll want to get “Footloose” too!

Set to Kenny Loggin’s “Footloose,” one of the most “culturally, historically, or artistically significant songs,” this video is a series of other vignettes from over 40 films seamlessly strung together. Titled “Dancing At The Movies,” a thoughtful user meticulously edited snippets of dance scenes to match the rhythm and time of the song to tell a story. This clip is so entertaining and delightful; you’ll want to watch it over and over and over again. Favorites include “Grease,” “Saturday Night Fever,” “Footloose” (obviously!), “Fame,” “Flashdance,” “Dancing In The Rain,” “Mary Poppins,” and many more!

The editor did such a fantastic job of being able to discern which snippet goes where really capturing the joy and energy of all the movies he chose from. This is such a fun and lively video, super engaging, and when you’re watching it, you’ve got to turn the volume up! This isn’t meant to be a quiet one! Put on your dancing shoes and off you go down memory lane of some of the most iconic tunes in the history of film!
