Hollywood Star Gifts 1,000 Children Of Fallen Soldiers A Disney World Vacation

There are so many ways that you can give back to your community. Donations, volunteer work, and setting up food banks are some of the more common ways that everyday people use to make sure that they’re doing their due diligence and giving to those in need. And, these ways are great! An hour or two at your local shelter and non-perishable food items dropped off at the food bank go such a long way.

When it comes to giving back, there are Hollywood stars who also believe in doing what they can to ensure that those who are in need, around them, are taken of to the best of his/her ability. One star, in particular, stands out, and that is Gary Sinise.

The Emmy Award winner took the internet by storm with a recent goodwill gesture for hundreds of children and their families; these families have a special connection with one another: they’re the children and spouses of US soldiers. Gary flew 1000 kids and their families to Disney World Florida for a fully-paid, five-day vacation. Yes, you read that right. The actor covered all expenses, for each child and his/her family, so they can go enjoy themselves without worrying about any bills. Gary wanted to go out of his way and pay back the soldiers who have fought on the lines for the country’s safety. Everyone understands that mom and dad soldiers sacrifice a lot to make sure that we’re safe, and there isn’t enough that we can do to pay them back.

The best part of Gary’s initiative is that this isn’t a one-time thing. Since he’s started this endeavor in 2018, he says that he plans to continue it for as long as possible, once a year. His annual trips to Florida for these kids make a ton of people happy and he wants to continue to do this for as long as possible.

But, given the logistics and the number of people, it’s not easy to coordinate an event this big. Gary arranged for 15 different planes to fly throughout the United States, to accommodate to all the families. Each family was able to board a plane close to home so they don’t have to worry about traveling any far distances to get on their flight. His thoughtfulness went a long way as the families had a blast and got away from the nuances of everyday life for the five days they were there. Talking about the incident, Gary said: “We wanna take care of these kids and make sure they know we don’t forget.”
