Are you big on golf? It’s no secret that people love the game of golf because it can be a great way to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When you think of a golf course, you probably think of beautiful greenery as far as the eye can see, calm waters, and the soothing sounds of nature. Indeed, golf can be a great way to destress and it’s no wonder that golf courses and vacation resorts are often one and the same. So what happens when you finally get to go on that golfing trip that you’ve been planning for months and someone comes along, stomping on the green, rudely interrupting your game? You’d probably get mad… you’d probably get really mad. Unless, of course, that someone turns out to be a gigantic reptile that could swallow you whole.
A video of a frighteningly gargantuan alligator at a golf course has recently gone viral. In the video captured by golfer Charles Helms, the alligator can be seen casually making its way across the greens of the Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto, Florida. You can hear Charles saying “That is the biggest freaking alligator I’ve ever seen in my life… that is a monster.”
Not surprisingly, many viewers have accused the video of being fake, either with computer generated graphics or simply a couple of guys in an alligator suit. But news sources and the golfers have confirmed that the alligator is 100% real. Buffalo Creek Golf Course employee Wendy Schofield also adds “People have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture. He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him, he’s like a mascot for the course.”
