Home Free Sings Beautiful Ballad For Mothers Called “Mom”

Mother’s Day has come and gone again, but all-year-’round, we celebrate the devotion, selflessness, and love our mothers provide. Truthfully, one day out of the year isn’t adequate enough to give back to the 24/7 job duties each of our mothers or mother figures have given to us as we grew into happy, healthy adults.

Even for those of us who are not on good terms with our mother or no longer have a mother here on Earth, we still hold heavy respect for mothers across the globe. After all, it’s not a job everyone can do. It takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

Although there is no way we can give back to our mothers the way they have consistently given to us, a cover of Bonnie Tyler’s 2013 song, “Mom,” by Home Free has us reminiscing in the beautiful moments our mothers were able to give to us. The song is perfect for Mother’s Day, your momma’s birthday, or whenever you want to remind yourself or your mother how much she truly means to you!

In Home Free’s cover, the music and singing themselves are beautiful as is, but to top it off, the lyrics of “Mom” are enough to have us and our mothers bawling. They definitely picked a great song to cover!

Now you’ll never have a better friend
Or a warmer touch to tuck you in
She’ll kiss your bruises your bumps and scrapes
‘Cause when you’re hurt her heart will break …

Although the song is written to a child rather than directly to a mom, the lyrics still act as a representation of what a mother means to us: someone who listens, cares, loves, and gives.

To top it off, we not only get a soothing, touching cover song by Home Free in the viral video clip but also a beautiful music video that features a series of mothers and their little ones or adult children. Seeing the beautiful relationships between mother and child throughout the video brings back memories of our own.

Towards the end of the video, the band members of Home Free dedicate the song to their own mothers, each holding up a chalkboard with their mother’s name written on it. How sweet!

You might shed a few tears when you listen to the song in the video below. Worth it? Absolutely! Be sure to share the song with your momma if you have the opportunity to!
