Abandoned Husky With Unique Eyes Gets Forever Home

Dogs come in many different shapes and forms. Canines can come with long tails, short tails, black coats, spotted coats, and so on. We are all aware of this incredible diversity and have learned to love and appreciate it.

But for a Siberian Husky named Jubilee, she has something about her that, as far as the public is aware, is completely distinct from other dogs around the world: her eyes. No, her eyes aren’t two different colors, and yes, she still has both of her eyes. Rather, what’s unique about them is their googly-like appearance due to an eyelid deformity.

Because of her eyes, the four-year-old husky was dropped off at Husky House, a shelter in Matawan, New Jersey, by her breeder who claimed she was “too weird-looking” to be sold.

After being checked out by professionals, no health problems were found in the dog, apart from her unusual (but healthy) pair of eyes.

“She has been thoroughly checked out by our vets. It does not affect her in any way or slow her down one bit. She is happy and healthy.”

Regardless of her clean bill of health, the husky has been having difficulty finding a home for the past couple of years.

That’s when the Husky House posted a couple of photos of the dog along with the following text in a Facebook post:

“My name is Jubilee. I’m a 4-year-old female husky who has been with Husky House for a long time. I came from a “breeder” who couldn’t sell me because he said I was “weird” looking. Huskies are majestic looking dogs and I don’t know why I don’t look like them.

I wish I was beautiful so someone would want me to be their dog.

I like other dogs, but I don’t like cats. I love people, but I’m a little shy because people mostly laugh at the way I look.

Doesn’t anyone want a funny looking husky? I wish I had a family of my own who could love me even though I’m not pretty.”

Quickly, the post earned over 30,000 reactions, 23,000 comments, and 47,000 shares. In fact, more than 150 people sent in a request to adopt Jubilee.

“Since the original Facebook post went viral, we received an overwhelming amount of love, support, and inquiries, including adoption requests,” said the Husky House representative. “We are so happy to see that everyone feels she is as wonderful as we always knew she was.”

Best of all, the canine officially earned a forever home as of Saturday!

“Thanks to everyone who shared Jubilee’s story. She has found her forever home with previous Husky House adopters and joins her new fur-siblings in a wonderful new life!” said the shelter in an update.
