Master The ‘Jasmine Stitch’ In No Time With This Simple Tutorial! (Video & Diagram)

I must admit that I don’t know much about crocheting. I’ve tried it once but it was a total disaster. But I do have a friend that is absolutely obsessed with it and every year, she’ll crochet beautiful scarves and hats for everyone. I’ve asked her for some tips and tricks on how to get better and she while she told me that I need to keep practicing, she also mentioned that learning different types of crochet stitches is a great way to create more functionality (i.e. density and warmth) and stunning designs.

Sadly, I never took her up on her advice to practice more but that may very well have to change after I saw this gorgeous stitch. It’s called the Jasmine stitch, or the star stitch, and while it looks incredibly complicated, the best part is that it’s actually considered a beginner stitch!

In the diagram below, you’ll see that each star is actually made with two rows of “puffs.”

The jasmine stitch is fairly dense and is great for making purses, hats, and coats!

Of course, it will still take some practice to get used to the technique and master this stitch but the results are certainly worth it and the video tutorial below will certainly help speed along the process!

Watch this video tutorial for a step-by-step guide on how to quickly learn this gorgeous crochet stitch! And don’t forget to share this with your family and friends who love to crochet!
