Throwing Ice Cubes In Dryer Can Remove Wrinkles

I’m not a fan of ironing my clothes, it’s incredibly annoying, and I genuinely don’t believe it serves a purpose in society. Some people find a wrinkle-free clean shirt a beautiful thing, but I honestly kind of like the wild wrinkly look, after all, you never see action heroes wearing perfectly ironed shirts.

Here’s another thing: I don’t know how to iron properly, and maybe that’s why I don’t like it much. I remember I was headed to my cousin’s wedding one morning when my mom gave me the task of ironing my dress. It was a beautiful lilac color, and I put it down on the ironing board to start the job. The moment the iron touched my dress, the lilac turned into a teal batch of fabric and all of a sudden I understood that I was now staring through a hole in my dress right at the teal ironing board.

While some people find doing the laundry therapeutic, I see myself just getting antsy because it’s such a long and tedious process. You need to pull out the ancient metal ironing board and listen to the metal screech as it painfully unfolds. Then I fill water into the iron and leap back in fear as it sputters steam and boiling water. Then I backtrack and read the unintelligible laundry descriptions and pray that I don’t somehow melt the fabric.

All of which explains why you will often catch me wearing wrinkly clothes (can we start a new fashion trend, please?). Since I’m always asking others about ways to avoid ironing, I’ve been told that you can avoid a lot of wrinkles by taking your clothes out of the dryer as soon as it’s done and hanging them but this isn’t always possible, and I often forget. So that’s why I’m super happy to have learned this cool laundry trick by JumbleJoy.

Clothes wrinkled? Throw them in the dryer with a handful of ice cubes, and then let it run on high for five minutes. Once the cycle is done, take them out, and they should be wrinkle-free. Once you take out the clothing, make sure to fold them or hang them as soon as you can to avoid them getting wrinkled again. Isn’t that the perfect way to end all the ironing woes you may have? I think so!

Give it a shot and share this handy tip with your family and friends.
