Have you ever heard of the Magnus Effect? It’s 100% pure magic. Or actually, air on one side of a spinning ball (or a cylinder) is going in the same direction of the spin, deflecting it back; and air on the other side of the spinning ball is going in the opposite direction of the spin, separating it away from the ball.
