Men’s Choir Bursts Out In Song On A Flight

Flying on a crowded airplane is not most people’s idea of fun. First, you have to get to the airport hours before your flight to stand in line for security. Everyone is testy, tired, and anxious. If security goes smoothly, you may have time to wait for your flight—sitting in a crowded waiting area with other folks. Hopefully, your flight is on time, but weather and other events often mean that flights and planes are delayed and a short day of traveling can turn into a very long one. Personally, I like to come prepared with a couple of good books and take advantage of the food available at the airport.

To accommodate more passengers, airplane seating has slowly gotten smaller over the years. For tall folks like me, that means that there is never enough leg room and that I’m going to be encroaching on my neighbor’s space. We’re all crammed into a small place, breathing the same recycled air for hours on end. It can be tedious, claustrophobic, and downright miserable. But, it doesn’t have to be. Flying can be a pleasant experience, and the airline staff and the other passengers have a lot to do with it.

There are those moments after the plane has landed and you are waiting to disembark that feel particularly anxious. Everyone wants to get off the plane, but no one can leave yet. On this particular flight, the 75 member Baylor University Men’s Choir made that stretch of time a delight for everyone. In particular, they wanted to thank the Emirates flight crew for their flying experience. They serenaded that entire plane with “Da Coconut Nut,” which was composed by Filipino musician Ryan Cayabyab. They waited in their seats and sang the rest of the passengers off the plane as they began to disembark.

Watch their delightful performance in the video below! Please like and share.
