The world around us can be really tough and seemingly impossible sometimes but thank goodness for Moms. Whenever I’ve found myself struggling to keep myself above water, I knew I could always count on the unconditional love of my mom, and no matter what, she would always be there for me. She is the glue that keeps the family together and I can’t even begin to count the number of sacrifices she’s made to help me get me where I am today. I’m sure many of you can relate when I say that as I was growing up and trying to be a responsible adult, I’ve had many moments when I thought to myself “how the heck did my mom do all of this!?” Yeah, she really is a super woman and I can never be grateful enough.
To remind us of our mom’s love and dedication, P&G has created a new commercial for the 2016 Olympics. And it’s incredible. Titled “Thank You, Mom,” it’s less a “commercial” and more a tribute to moms everywhere who have helped their children spread their wings and realize their dreams. The video ends with a very powerful message that reads “It takes someone strong to make someone strong.” I couldn’t agree more.
The video tells the story of 5 athletes and their mothers, and that’s pretty much all I want to tell you because I don’t want to spoil this masterpiece. But before you hit the play button, get a box of tissues ready and make sure you’re alone unless you feel like explaining to everyone why you’re sobbing uncontrollably. You’ve been warned.
