Police Officers Were Driving In A Heavy Storm. And That’s When They See Her… OMG!

Nothing can ruin a day like being caught off guard by bad weather. I remember driving on the highway a few years ago on a sunny afternoon. Seemingly out of nowhere, the skies darkened and heavy rain started coming down. Before I knew it, I was driving through one of the biggest thunderstorms I had ever been in and I could barely see out of my windshield! Not even my windshield wipers at full speed could do much to help my visibility.

It was way too dangerous to be driving so I put on my hazards and pulled over to the side of the highway. Many others did the same. While I sat in my car waiting for the storm to pass, I couldn’t help but be thankful that I was at least sheltered inside my car. Unfortunately, not everyone can be so lucky during these conditions.

Two police officers in Kansas City were driving through a thunderstorm when something caught their eye: a deer that was absolutely terrified and struggling to get off the slippery road, even running into the concrete barrier. The officers knew they had to do something so they stopped their car and approached the frightened deer.

“She had nothing left. She trusted me. I walked over to her and said, ‘OK, let’s go,’ and I walked her just as if she were my dog,” explained Sergeant Steven Sandusky to KMBC News. Considering how anxious and disoriented the deer was, there really was no telling what she would have done had the officers not intervened.
