Handy DIY Solution Can Get Rid Of Spiders

One thing I thank the winter for is that the season rids the house of little creepy crawlies. I don’t know about you, but the summer really brings life to these little pests in our home and we can stand them! In the winter, we don’t spot too many it’s a relief.

Of all the pests that come and go, in and out of the house, basement, patio, and other places, the ones that freak me out the most are spiders! There’s something about them that I just can’t get over. Can you blame me?

Spiders tend to have a bad reputation. Well, it only makes sense because they are one of the most common household pests and can quickly get irritable. It’s one thing to have spiders outside in your garden or patio, they never bug anyone, but it’s a different story to have them in the dark places around the house. The nooks and crannies where they hide inside are hard to get areas, where it’s dark and cool. This area can also be your pantry.

Of course, we will do anything to rid our homes of these pests. The most common thing people do is run over to the local hardware store and grab a spider/pest repellant spray. This idea can do the trick, but it’s an extra step in the process of getting rid of them. You can save a trip to the store.

You can easily make a spider repellant right at home the next time you feel that they’re taking over your house. All you need are some simple ingredients. Aside from making a repellant at home, you can try leaving orange peels in areas where they appear. Spiders hate the smell of citrus, and they won’t take the trouble of getting anywhere near these peels.

Vinegar, salt water, and mint are also great ways to get rid of them. But, I always suggest having an effective spray handy for the next time you need it. To get started, collect the following:

  • essential oil of fruit or plant
  • water
  • spray bottle
  • dishwashing liquid

Now that you have all the items click on the video below to see how you can make a repellant that will go a long way this spring and summer season.
