James Cordon And Ariana Grande Perform Titanic Tribute

We all know James Corden for his epically famous and fun carpool karaoke. The guy gets to ride around and hang out with A-list celebrities like Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, SIA and Bruno Mars while whipping around town singing their songs and joking around like they’ve been friends for years. James has a pretty good voice, too! He can easily hold a tune, carry a beat and be hilariously entertaining all at once.

But today, James has something a little different in store for his loyal and dedicated audience, and it’s just as good as carpool karaoke, if not better!

True to form, James is ready to entertain with a super fun segment for his following to enjoy. It’s called “Soundtrack to Titanic” and as per James, it’s “13 songs, 9 sets, one take and zero pressure.” He performs with his fabulously talented special guest, Ariana Grande. The two legends in their own right have concocted a performance that is set to impress, and it’s all done LIVE.

Their skit is an abbreviated version of the 1997 classic, “Titanic,” starring Leonard Dicaprio and Kate Winslet. Ariana and James play the two main characters and have chosen corresponding songs that match with the specific scene – it is so darn funny! Starting with the Styx classic “Come Sail Away,” Ariana sets the tone for the adventurous love story that’s about to take off, donning her character’s attire and adding in a little drama by slowly and thoughtfully walking up to the boat. James takes over the song and we know we’re in for a good time!

All the scenes are great and well planned, but the best ones are the “King of the World” part, singing Foo Fighter’s “Learn to Fly,” and the famous nude drawing scene. I don’t know how they both kept a straight face doing this one while singing Ed Sheeran’s “The Shape Of You.” They are in the zone and it’s easy to tell they’re having a blast doing it!

The skit touches on all the major scenes from the film, building up momentum to finish on a memorable note. After the dramatic “Bye Bye Bye,” Ariana picks up her broken heart, after James drowns, and sings Celine Dion’s unforgettable “My Heart Will Go On” blowing through the high notes with her incredibly powerful voice. And then, James joins in! His harmonizing works so well with Ariana’s vocals and it’s enough to send chills down your back and to your toes! They are a wonderful pair and pulled off this “Titanic” tribute creatively and without a hitch.
