Woman Insecure About Her Nose Gets A New Look

We all have our good and bad days in the mirror, I know I do! There are times when I wake up and look in the mirror and everything is exactly where it’s supposed to be! Skin looks clear, hair is cooperating and I don’t have to spend minutes thinking about my outfit. Everything just magically falls into place. Then, there are those times when I feel like my eyebrows are too thick, my skin looks drab and no article of clothing seems to fit, and as a result, I’m suddenly running late for dinner with a friend and my whole evening just goes out the window!

Yes, this happens. And while it may be fleeting, coming and going depending on my mood, I’m usually pretty alright with what I see in the mirror. As for Pamela, she’s been living with a condition that’s made it very difficult for her to come to terms with what she sees, and it’s been slowly getting worse since she was a teenager.

On an episode of the daytime talk show “The Doctors,” host ER Physician Travis Stork introduces his guest Pamela. Pamela is 46-years-old and when she was in her early teens, she had beautiful skin. It wasn’t until puberty set in that her skin started to become problematic. She developed acne that only continued to get worse. and it was when she gave birth to her second child that it really flared up, actually changing the shape of her nose. Since then, it’s continued to swell, growing larger in appearance and taking on a much more bulbous form.

For years, she spent her days hiding from people, embarrassed to leave the house, always hiding behind her hair and not feeling good about herself. It was something that she didn’t have an explanation for, something that seemed to have come out of nowhere and just took over her face. Riddled with anxiety and fear, but still hopeful, she was convinced there had to be a cure.

Pamela got a big ray of hope when she first appeared on the show earlier in the season. With the help of Dr. Ann Zedlitz, Pamela was diagnosed with Rhinophyma, an advanced form of rosacea that can, in fact, be cured. The hopeful show guest received full treatment from Dr. Ann and her team, and now Pamela is back three months later thanking everyone that helped her look and feel more like she used to. “I am excited about the new me. I no longer hide behind my hair. It’s truly a new beginning. It was a prayer about fours years ago and you guys made it happen. I am so grateful.”
