Generous Cop Leaves Pregnant Waitress $100 Tip And Kind Message On Receipt

If you ask most parents, they’ll tell you that starting a family is one of the best decisions of their lives. Of course, life changes, but parents don’t want to have it any other way. They’d rather wake up at 3 in the morning for a feeding and diaper change rather than sleep through the night, not knowing what it’s like to look after a tiny human. It’s a beautiful feeling, according to all parents, but it also comes with a ton of responsibility and a lot of jitters, especially when it’s your first one.

You can also use a bit of help here and there when it comes to starting a family. Help can come in the form of a family member staying over to lend a hand; your employer giving you a couple of extra days off so you can get the rest and relaxation you need; or, it can even mean getting a few extra dollars here and there to save up for the newest addition to your family.

Brian Cadigan, the father of a young waitress who is 7 months pregnant, took to Facebook over the weekend to share a pleasant story of a police officer who showed up at his daughter’s workplace; he was instrumental in lending a helping hand to the waitress.

It turned out that a kind police officer came into the Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township, N.J. and Brian’s daughter was serving him. The woman was visibly pregnant and working her hardest to provide the best customer experience. The police officer, who wished to remain anonymous, placed his order and his bill came out to be $8.75. Here is where things take a positive turn.

Normally, people tip the usual 18-20% and call it a day, thinking it’ll be enough for the entire staff to split. But, considering that the waitress was expecting, and understanding through their conversation that this was the woman’s first child, the police officer did something a little bit extra: he left a $100 tip.

Not only was she touched by the fact that he left such a generous tip, but she was also pleasantly surprised by the lovely message on the receipt he left behind: “Enjoy your first. You will never forget it.”

I think that message and his kind gesture melted everyone’s hearts! It had such a positive impact on the family that Brian took to Facebook to share his gratitude.

Check out his post and all that he had to say.
