Portable Home Has Bold Colour Choice, But It’s The Unique Toilet That’s Raising Eyebrows

Downsizing doesn’t have to be daunting. That was the attitude Nicki Jo Davis, a firefighter from Savannah, Georgia, adopted when she first looked into joining the Tiny Green Cabins community; A pretty cool community, if you ask me!

This niche community of like-minded people has one thing in common: to take on a more sustainable lifestyle by giving up the frills and buckling down to the necessities. That’s where the company, Tiny Green Cabins, comes in. It provides custom-made, transportable, and eco-friendly micro-homes tailored to customers’ specifications. And the responses have been positive.

Nicki’s home is 22 ft long, 8 ft wide and 13.5 ft high. It uses solar power for electricity, and propane for heat and the cooker. She’s got a closet, a washer/dryer, a full sink, lots of counter space, a ton of floor storage and plans to have a big movie projector screen that conveniently slides down over the second entryway.

Did we mention Nicki’s outrageous color choice for the outside? This Victorian-style home-on-wheels is painted in her favorite eye-catching colours–teal, magenta, bright green and purple, and is made especially for her preferences, She got what she wanted though, something “completely ridiculous” and she couldn’t be happier.

What’s more, the bathroom is super equipped. It has a full shower, sink, mirror, extra storage, and an incinerating toilet. Yes, you read that right: rather than human waste breaking down biologically with the use of a traditional toilet, this bowl fires up to create sterile ash, and gives whole new meaning to the saying, “Fire in the hole!”
