Baby Pygmy Goats Dressed In Pyjamas Have A Party In The Barn

There are few things in the world that are as cute as baby animals. I love going to the zoo to see all of the animals, but if there is a baby animal in residence, I’m sure to make a special trip. There’s just something so adorable about a young animal exploring its new world and testing its limits.

Believe it or not, there is some science behind why we find baby animals so cute, according to The Washington Post. “Babies have large eyes and heads, button noses, soft, chubby bodies, floppy little limbs and a teetering gate. The first person to enumerate these characteristics was Konrad Lorenz, a Nobel-winning Austrian zoologist who is often thought of as the father of cuteness research.”

“Regardless of why babies are cute, their features trigger a strong effect. Studies have shown that pictures of cute babies cause the release of dopamine, the same chemical that is released when people fall in love. Other research has shown that cuter babies get better care from their parents, and that cute kids are more likely to be engaged in friendships and play.”

“Cuteness may also make people focus more. In one fascinating study, Hiroshima University researchers found people who had looked at pictures of puppies and other baby animals subsequently did better in tasks that required concentration. They said their findings suggested human brains are programmed to zap to attention when a cute thing appears.”

Whatever scientific reason is behind it, the pygmy goats in this video are some of the cutest baby animals that I have ever seen. They certainly aren’t helping me focus — I can’t look away from this video long enough to get anything done!

Sunflower Farm Creamery filmed ten of their baby goats and just to make them even cuter, they dressed them in adorable little pajamas! The tiny goats can be seen hopping around, leaping off of hay bales, jumping, running, butting heads, and generally having the best time, ever!

Every time one of these babies hops forward and back or chases one of their tiny friends, my heart just melts. Even as small as they are, these little bundles of joy, spunk, and happiness are surprisingly athletic and pretty full of themselves. Though they won’t grow up to be very big, it’s easy to see that they’re definitely going to be a handful. I wouldn’t mind looking after them, though!
