Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock you, We Are The Champions… Queen is responsible for some of the rock and roll’s biggest songs. And on July 13, 1985, the band gave a performance that would become knows as the 20 minutes that changed music forever. Live Aid was a dual-venue concert held simultaneously in Philadelphia and London, with the purpose of raising relief funds for Ethiopian famine. Queen took to the London stage, and the band’s charismatic frontman, Freddie Mercury, immediately got to work unifying and mesmerizing over 72,000 people in the crowd. It was estimated that the broadcast had an estimated 1.9 billion viewers worldwide!

Sadly, only six years later Freddie Mercury lost his battle to AIDS and passed away. Queen continues to inspire new artists to this very day and the Live Aid performance remains an icon in music history.
