Man Sings Rendition Of “You Raise Me Up” As A Final Goodbye To Brother

Nothing comes as more of a shock than the loss of a loved one. People have different ways of coping with this loss, as well. Although grieving is universal, and everyone has to let their emotions loose for their own well-being, there are some who like to celebrate the person who has passed. This celebration is a small gesture (whatever the family may decide on) to help pay tribute to the life of their loved one. Even this moment, though, is a tough one, I’m sure.

Before I say anything about this video, I’ll warn you: you’ll need tissues for this one. I say “tissues” because one won’t do the job. The clip is from a funeral, and everyone knows how devastating a funeral can be.

But, when families add a loving personal touch to the service, it can be heart-wrenching and emotionally overwhelming to see them make a loved one’s goodbye something so special. This family tried to do something heartfelt for their late son, and we’re sure everyone will be talking about it for time to come.

Niels passed away at the age of 24. Although we don’t know the details of what happened, his mother explained his death to be “sudden.” On the day of the funeral, Niels’ father and sister spoke a few words and remembered their beloved family member. But it was his younger brother who paid the most moving tribute to Niels; the young man sang “You Raise Me Up” — the second verse of the song was wholly dedicated to Niels. Everyone was in tears listening to the tribute.

“You Raise Me Up” was composed by Secret Garden, but it was Josh Groban who made the tune popular amongst the masses.

Although the entire family had a very difficult time coping with the loss, somewhere they feel assured and rested knowing that their son was a good man, and an organ donor.
