Sir Paul McCartney Drives With James Corden For A Nostalgic “Carpool Karaoke”

I’ve been on some long road trips. Long road trips across states, into provinces, and through countries! And if there’s one thing I’ve learned (besides taking a bio-break before you think you need to and at every possible opportunity), it’s that you learn a lot about the people you share your time with, in the car. You’re in close quarters after all, and with so many miles to cover under those tires, you’re kinda stuck with the company sharing your drive! It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better, and share stories to pass the time. It’s all about telling jokes, making fun of each other, and creating new memories in the process!

“The Late Late Show” host James Corden knows the beauty of this! His Carpool Karaoke captures the exact sentiment of a road trip, except shorter and maybe just as musical! But this time, James has an extra special guest in the car with him for the latest edition of this game: Sir Paul McCartney.

If this sounds unfamiliar to you, James’ ultra-popular segment has the host and a celebrity guest packed into a car, driving around town singing and swapping a few stories and laughs. Leading up to the grand appearance of Sir Paul on the show, other celebrities to join James haven included Stevie Wonder, Adele, Sia, and Sir Elton John. But this episode is sure to be the biggest one yet. While James is no shrinking violet, it’s quite possible that having a Beatle in your car can make anyone feel intimidated.

It may have taken almost half a year of top-secret preparation and under wraps, super hush-hush planning, and careful calculation to pull this off, but they did it. James and his crew worked very hard to keep tight-lipped about this wonderful collaboration, and now, it’s ready for the world to see.

Sir Paul chose the songs they’d sing, and they shot for five hours, cutting it down to 23 minutes! They drove past memorable spots like the house Sir Paul grew up in, and left at 21, never to return. They went past the spot he wrote “She Loves You” with John Lennon and past Penny Lane! This looks like an epic episode with such a legend, and it’s not one that you’d want to miss!
