Here’s The Easiest Way To Completely Skin A Watermelon

For those of you in the southern hemisphere, summer is slowly but surely creeping in. That means longer days, beach vibes, sunglasses and tons of fun! Another perk of the sunny season is all of the sweet summer fruits! To snack on a juicy plum or a tasty peach is a perfect addition to any activity! So when I say I’ve got an awesome DIY watermelon skinning hack, you’ll want to try it out when the time is right.

And thanks to the nifty and very much appreciated social channel that is YouTube, we now have the ability to learn about, well, just about anything, in a matter of minutes!

Having said that, in this video you will see Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer, skin a watermelon. But instead of chopping it up, leaving a mess everywhere, he has perfected the art that is preparing watermelon. The result? A clean-cut pill-shaped watermelon with no skin! Not surprisingly, this isn’t the first watermelon wisdom that he’s imparted upon YouTube enthusiasts (but that’s a story for another day!).

So what does this little life hack involve? Not one, but two watermelons, a sharp knife, and—wait for it…dish scrubbing pads—the whole affair will take you around 10 minutes. For the full method, give the video below a peek! It goes without saying that your next family gathering or party will commend you for your creativity and great-looking watermelon!
