Homelessness is a major problem in the United States. In 2013, over 600,000 people were reported to be homeless. It’s easy to ignore these people and pass judgment but the truth is that we don’t know the full story of how many of them ended up on the streets. While our immediate thought goes to making a financial donation or giving food, Elvis Summers did something unique but incredible for Smokie, his 60-year-old homeless neighbour. Using discarded materials, Elvis built Smokie her own home! And in case you’re wondering, the local police are supporting the tiny house as long it’s moved every 72 hours. Amazing!
