Socks Can Stop Windows From Fogging Up

I personally love the winter weather. I would always much rather the cold temperatures over the hot ones and there’s something about the winter that always feels festive—doesn’t matter if it’s even the month of February and Christmas is long gone! The snow makes for such a scenic view everywhere you look and everything looks like it’s right out of a painting. Absolutely beautiful!

But, every season comes with its downfalls as well. Although I love the cool feeling in the air, what I don’t like is the impact it has on my car’s windshield. I will be driving when randomly my windshield will fog up. I know there are a lot of other technicalities that are involved in this but the cooler temperatures definitely have a role to play.

It’s not just the cooler months though! I can be driving down the highway on a day in August, with no AC but my windows fully down, and I’ll still see a small film of fog line my windshield. I understand this happening on a cold day, but having my visibility be slim because of fog in the summertime seems almost ridiculous, don’t you think? It’s frustrating, to say the least!

Do you feel the same about your windshield in any given season? If so, then there is actually a very easy way to ensure that you keep the fog at bay while you’re in the car, on any given day. It’s a simple DIY trick that really goes a long way! There are some items that you need to collect before you start, and you may not have to go far for them. Take a trip to your garage before you head to the store for any of this.

So, here’s what you will need:

  • pair of socks
  • silica crystal cat litter
  • a roll of tape

The silica crystal cat litter is a great absorbent and all you need to get rid of that window fog is something that will absorb all the moisture. Who would have known?

The tutorial below will show you how to use the socks and cat litter to make this nifty DIY product to put in your car.
