These Super Simple and Healthy Cookies Use Only Three Ingredients

It’s confession time. At this very minute, I have a package of Oreos next to the bed. Now, take a minute and consider the implications of this. Obviously, I have been eating cookies in bed. And, if you’ve ever eaten Oreos before, you know that they are kind of messy to eat. Which of course means there are Oreo crumbs in my bed. As if that isn’t bad enough, eating Oreos, in bed or out of bed, is just plain bad for you.

These delicious chocolate wafers sandwiching some strangely textured white icing are actually wafers of processed sugar and empty calories sandwiching cream that, whatever it is, has completely negated the hour of torture I spent on the treadmill this morning. So, why on earth would I eat Oreos? And in the bed of all places? The answer is simple. They taste amazing. But perhaps more importantly, I don’t have to make them myself. I open the package and I have instant cookie shaped gratification.

You see, I don’t cook. I especially don’t bake. Occasionally, I will attempt to make something and it usually results in the smoke alarm going off. But, I think I have discovered my problem. I always try to make something too complicated; I set myself up for failure. Fortunately, I’ve found the easiest cookies in the world – and they’re amazingly healthy. They contain just three ingredients, and processed sugar isn’t even one of them. I’m pretty sure I have the ingredients in the kitchen and I’m giving these a try!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup dry oats
  • berries (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and place spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 15-20 min or until slightly golden. THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO IT. Enjoy!
