My default saying is "reading is fundamental" Working dogs have vests that say don't pet, working dog etc. If an adult is dumb enough to just reach for the dog, they deserve to be treated like a recalcitrant child. Tell your friends to piss off, adults should be able to read and understand "NO" Big NTJ
ytj. 17, with a 1yo and in school full time. Even 20-30yo mothers need a babysitter and to get away from their babies and have some "me" time. The daughter made sure that there was child care by asking the nanny, and maybe she should have asked you first about that. Either way, she's going to lose her god-damned mind if she never gets any down time. I did it too. And I was fed the "you made the child, you made the choice, you get no life outside your kid until he's 18" Mentally, that is the pits. All those friends who thought it was soo cool that she was going to have a baby and before she was due talked about hanging out and babysitting? They evaporated like water on the pavement once the baby was born. Even though she's still in school, people treat her different, and it's isolating. Even if it's only 1-2x a month, she does need the chance to go on a mall crawl with her few remaining friends, or a movie, or just a mani-pedi. Especially with a child her age, resentment to her own child is a thing, and if she doesn't get SOME time away that isn't also school, I fear for her mental health. It took me until my oldest was in his teens before I stopped feeling guilt anytime I did something that wasn't child-centric. Don't do that to her, or your grandchild.
NTJ, and in many areas disturbing a beaver dam is a hefty fine for disturbing wildlife. There may be nothing that can be done about them, aside from creating drainage to keep their property from flooding. Involve your local game fish and parks department. While no longer on the endangered species list, there are many protections for endemic wildlife in most areas.
