Would you be saying the same thing if she'd let the woman try on the dress, destroy it because she's twice the size of the dress, and then get fired for letting it happen? She literally probably wouldn't have been able to get more than one leg in the dress, so thers no "see if she likes the dress on herself." Jesus Christ, they shouldn't let morons comment on things.

That would be a fair point in a relationship that shares finances. But, as long as op isn't a mind reader, they've had an arrangement for 10 years that she's decided to change all of a sudden. And she didn't do it when the baby was born, which would have been the normal time to do it, but she waited until the baby was darn near a year old. If she wanted to change the arrangement, she had a responsibility to discuss it with her partner. Long before now.
