A young man in my old town is severely brain-damaged and paralyzed for life after an accident. He was in the back seat and not wearing a seatbelt. The 2 kids in the front seat (wearing seatbelts) both walked away from the accident. Your friends think seatbelts are restrictive? Trellis them being in a wheelchair is more restrictive - and you don’t want that on your conscience. Stick to your guns.
