My late husband was a builder and I did a lot of work with him, as well as being a "go-fer" frequently. I was at a plumbing supply place getting some fittings, and a new young man was waiting on me. They were out of one particular fitting I needed, so I asked if they had a couple of others that would work. He was trying to convince me that they wouldn't work, when one of the older regular guys walked by. He said "Oh hi, Mrs. B. Everything OK?" I told him what was going on, the substitution I was going to make, but that the new guy was insisting it wouldn't work. He just laughed, and said to the kid, "Get her what she wants.. she probably knows more about plumbing than you ever will!"
