People Carry Out Their "Best Of All Time" Revenge

Do you ever get a feeling of vengeance, like a strong urge to retaliate against someone for being a jerk? I'm sure we've all felt that way before. However, there's a difference between feeling this way and seriously wanting to act on it. Getting revenge clearly isn't for the faint of heart. Let's just say the people below are quite the aggressors. Their stories are exciting, inspiring, and a bit off the rails at times, but that's what makes them so entertaining. You have my permission to read on! All I ask is for you to vote for your favorite stories.

12. Buy A Car But Don't Pay For It? This Isn't Over Yet

Did they really think they’d get away with this?

“I am a part of a small family-owned type used car dealership (cue used car salesman joke here). We have maybe 50 cars on the lot at any time and our main business is sub-prime or people with less-than-perfect credit.

We truly want to help the people that can’t afford/have the credit to buy from a new car dealership. We’re actually very liked in our small community.

So recently I had these customers, let’s call her Wife and him Husband (They’re early 20s).

They come into my store and I like them; they seem like a nice young couple trying to start their lives out, and they have two very sweet little girls and could just use a break.

They have made some mistakes in their early lives and have less-than-perfect credit. I coach them on how to improve their credit and they seem sincerely interested in fixing it so I bust my butt to get them a loan with the wife’s mother cosigning on a nice third-row SUV.

The wife is literally crying and hugging me because every other dealer turned them down. Now they are a little short on the down payment so I take a check for the balance and we agree I’ll deposit it on his next payday (mistake number one) but pretty common in this line of work.

I forget about them until the next week when I drop the check at the bank along with other deposits. The next thing I know, I receive a notice that the check has bounced.

Along with a couple of NSF fees attached for me, and the check comes back. It’s an amount that is considered a first-degree misdemeanor in our state, just under a felony. I reach out to the wife to see what happened and how we can make arrangements to get this taken care of.

The last thing I want to do is go after a young couple with two small kids. At first, the wife is a little shocked and insists the funds were pulled from their account and I show them the picture of the NSF check.

She understands and says they can pay half in 2 weeks when she’s paid again and in another 2 weeks pay the other half. I agree to this and just take them at their word (mistake 2).

A couple of weeks rolls around and I don’t hear from the wife or husband and am now thinking I’ve been taken for a ride ignoring my calls/texts/etc., you get the point. I get a call from the bank and come to find out they haven’t made their first payment either.

Now with this particular bank, if the customer does not make their first payment, we have to “buy back” the deal. Basically, we have to give the bank what they sent us for the loan.

After blowing up their phones and social media, they finally call me back. I get the sob story that he got let go from his job and he just started a new one and that Mom is going to help them get back on their feet.

I go through heck and high water with the bank to make a deal that if they make their payment, they’ll keep the loan, but I’m still on the hook if they miss any of the next 3 payments.

The wife also tells me they’ll make payments to me on the bounced check once he starts getting paychecks. So I agree, they make their payment to the bank, and I go about my life… Until the next month comes around.

I get an email from the bank saying the wife didn’t make the next month’s payment and won’t answer their calls. At this point, I’m furious and ready to just go get their vehicle.

They won’t answer any of my calls and call Mom. Mom scrounges everything in her social security paycheck to help try to make the payment for them and is short. Wife and Husband tell her they’ll cover the balance and of course don’t pay.

Bank says deal is a buyback; we need our payment back for the loan within 7 days. Now the only way I can pay back their loan is if my floor plan (basically a giant credit card we buy cars on) gets pictures of the car in my possession.

I try to call/text/email/message on social media to get ahold of both the wife and husband and they block me on everything. They’re basically just stealing the vehicle without paying. They even blocked Mom who has been trying to help them get this handled.

Yes, they screwed over their own mother in this ordeal. I just want the vehicle back and to move on with life. So this is where I go pro-revenge on them.

I begin by dropping the check off at the local prosecutor, and they’re delighted to file charges against them.

I do some skip tracing calling family members, all of which are more than happy to help because come to find out, the husband has had 7 jobs in 4 months and has burned every single family member with what they’ve borrowed.

I find the wife’s father on social media. Father has been trying to take custody of deadbeat wife and husband’s 2 kids because of how they treat them. He informs me they are staying in their sister’s house right over the border (we are on the state line of 2 states, remember this).

I call up a repo company and even drive the hour to go get the vehicle. They’ve been hiding it in the garage (according to neighbors and repo company). I do some searching and find out they’re both on probation for stealing a bunch of stuff from multiple stores.

So I of course find and call up Mrs. Probation Officer to see if she has a last known address. I then mention to her that they’re staying above the state line and bounced a very large check to me, and they’re facing fresh charges in my town.

She appreciates the knowledge.

Now while I was up at their house one evening, I talk to one of the neighbors (who also hates them; they’re always yelling at their kids and at each other) and convince the neighbor to call me if they see the vehicle outside.

It took one day. I get the call. I send a very large friend who lives nearby to go get the vehicle. After many expletives, and berating my friend, they hand over the vehicle.

But not before finally calling me while he was there and telling me how they’re going to sue and blah blah.

I’m out quite a bit from the ordeal, but here’s the best part. I just found out that by living out of state, they violated probation and just got sentenced to 30 days in jail from that, and they also just had their “video court date” (because they’re currently in jail with the probation violation) with the local judge on the new charges of the bounced check. I got my vehicle back and guess what? Deadbeat wife’s father got custody of the 2 kids.”

11. Think You Can Park Wherever You Want? Get Multiple Tickets

Pexels

“Years ago, I worked as a security officer in a high-traffic tourist area (graveyard shift).

One of my responsibilities was to make sure my building’s loading/unloading zone is kept clear because at all hours of the day we’ve got vehicles coming and going for people going to meetings, visitors, tourists, cabs, etc.

The curb is painted white and marked in big bold letters LOADING AND UNLOADING ONLY NO PARKING. At the end of the zone, there was a single handicapped parking stall painted bright blue.

Now the building I worked at was nearby a few large nightclubs, so every Friday and Saturday the area would be crazy busy with intoxicated fighting, vomiting, etc.

All night long there’d be cute girls milling around in skimpy outfits, so the job had its perks too.

Clubbers would take advantage of my building’s valet parking service and pay to park in our garage before heading out to one of the clubs across the street.

Some clubbers would think they could get away with parking in our loading zone all night. My coworkers and I would aggressively patrol the area in the earlier evening hours and advise as many people as we could so they’d leave and avoid getting a ticket.

It was also better for us if they left because when there were too many vehicles parked out front, traffic would become a complete mess regardless of the time of day.

Most people would be grateful for the information and leave.

Occasionally, some jerk would laugh in our faces, say something about pigs or rent-a-cops or whatever and leave their car anyway. In those cases, we’d call our city’s parking enforcement and they’d get a $90 ticket for their troubles.

One Saturday night, after finishing a round of patrols, I went to take a leak. On my way back out, I walked past Dispatch and my buddy calls me over to the surveillance bank.

“Hey bro, you got one out front.”

I turned to the grainy feed just in time to see a piece-of-junk ’97 BMW sloppily parking in front of our building. I murmured that I’d go out and advise the driver, but before I could leave, the driver exited his vehicle.

My buddy and I watched in silence as the driver, a young male adorned with flashy cheap bling, hiked his pants up at the crotch and blocked the path of a couple of girls walking by.

He started hitting on them in the slimmest way possible, even trying to grab their hands and behinds at one point, staring shamelessly at their chest while he was schmoozing them. He took out his phone and shoved it at them, presumably asking for their numbers.

Eventually, the girls were able to dodge his grabbers and ran off toward the club across the street. He repeated this routine several more times with various groups of girls walking by, even taking out a small bottle of booze from his back pocket and offering swigs.

With each rejection, he’d get angry and presumably cuss out the girls as they hurried off (our cameras didn’t pick up audio but this seemed a reasonable assumption).

I sighed and looked at my buddy.

“Well, I guess I’ll go talk to him.”

I made my way out to the front and approached him just as another group of girls ducked away from him. I called out to him. He turned and stared at me blankly.

“Hey, man, just wanted to let you know that this zone is for loading and unloading. Normally it’s not a big deal to park for a bit but if everyone does it on the weekends, traffic gets backed up pretty bad here.”

The jerk looked at his vehicle, then at my badge.

“SCREW YOU, IDIOT. I’LL MESS YOU UP. PIG WANNABE COP.”

I looked at my watch. It was about 10:30 PM. I continued my spiel.

“Parking enforcement here is pretty strict. You should move your vehicle or you might get ticketed–”

“SCREW YOU.

EAT MY DUST. BETTER NOT TOUCH MY CRAP. I’LL MESS YOU UP.”

“Have a good night sir.”

He flipped me off and went across the street, where he was promptly denied entry for dress code violations.

He cussed out the bouncer and wandered off down the block. I walked over to his vehicle and saw that it was parked crooked, the rear of the vehicle partially blocking the lane of traffic.

Half of his vehicle was in the white zone, the other in the blue zone. I keyed up my radio.

“OP to dispatch.”

“OP, go ahead.”

“Can you call parking enforcement for this vehicle? Lemme know when you’re ready for the plate.”

Fifteen minutes later, the parking officer arrived.

He looked at the vehicle and promptly issued a $90 ticket for parking in the white zone and a $900 ticket for parking in the blue zone without a permit.

I thanked the officer and went back inside to have a snack.

A couple of hours later, two of the local cops stopped by to say hi. As Officer Morris and his partner walked over, Dispatch radioed me.

“Hey OP, is that Jones and Morris?”

“Sure is.”

“You gonna do what I think you’re gonna do?”

“Yep.”

Officer Jones and I lit up our smokes as Officer Morris looked on disapprovingly.

We all smoked and chatted for a bit, then I casually motioned over my shoulder at the BMW.

“Hey, Jones, check out the parking job on that piece of crap.”

We all walked over to the corner and looked at the vehicle, the two tickets stuck on the windshield flapping in the wind.

Officer Morris grabbed one of the tickets, read it over, and looked at me.

“What’s the story here?”

I told them what happened and the driver’s response. Officer Jones and Morris looked at each other.

“OP, you got the time?”

“Yeah, it’s…

12:27 AM.”

“Well it’s a whole new day now isn’t it?”

Officer Morris proceeded to write another $90 ticket for the white zone, then another $900 ticket for the blue zone. He paused for a moment after finishing the second one.

“Hey Jones, looks like this vehicle is parked more than twelve inches from the curb. What do you think?”

“Sounds about right.”

Officer Morris wrote another ticket for $120 and slapped it on the pile of tickets on the windshield.

I shook both officers’ hands and they left to continue their patrols.

The next few hours of my shift went by fairly quickly. Around 5 AM, Dispatch scared the life out of me.

“HEY OP, ARE YOU STILL ON THAT CALL?”

“Negative, I just finished clearing it.”

“RESPOND TO DISPATCH ASAP.”

I ran down to the surveillance bank, where my coworkers were all gathered and laughing their butts off.

Sunday was street cleaning day and the BMW was getting ticketed again by parking enforcement.

After that, we all stopped by Dispatch every 5-10 minutes to see if the owner had returned. Finally, at about 6 AM, the jerk came stumbling up the block, looking completely worn out.

His formerly-white t-shirt was stained and dirty and it looked like he’d lost at least one fight.

We watched in suspense as he looked at the pile of tickets crammed together on his windshield and slowly removed them.

He stood there, pants sagging below his knees, shuffling through each ticket as if he were a toddler with a handful of Pokémon cards.

With a look of abject defeat on his face, he got into his vehicle and drove off.

The whole room erupted in laughter and high-fives.

As the laughter died down, I picked up the office phone and started dialing. My coworkers eyed me curiously. I put the call on speaker just as the call connected.

“9-1-1, what is your emergency?”

“Yeah, hi, I’d like to report a possible intoxicated driver. I have the vehicle and driver description when you’re ready.””

10. Try To Get Me Fired For Something YOU Did? Wait, I Have The Evidence

“In my first job out of University, I was hired to be IT Support and to build a ticketing website for a charity of about 100 staff in England. Unfortunately, however, my first-ever boss was insane.

One of the main reasons I was hired was to be in charge of the whole website project and to do most of the work, but from the moment I arrived at the charity, my boss deliberately sabotaged my work to make me look bad and to make her look good.

She took credit for every success and I took the blame for every failure. For months and months, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, from March when I was hired until roughly December when the crap really began to kick off.

In late November, I emailed all the higher staff members in the charity to give them an update on how things were progressing with the website. 13 staff members in total. 5 of them emailed back, with everyone else copied in, asking for more information on certain points.

I began replying but my boss came and told me not to reply. I told her that would make it look like I didn’t know how to reply, or that I was refusing to reply, but she assured me she would reply.

Over a week passed and she did not reply so I even drafted a template she could use, because I was tearing my hair out at the stress of it all. Still no reply.

Angry complaints started arriving in my inbox from Directors.

A week later in early December, on one of only 4 days I had off sick last year, she hastily arranged a meeting in which she told all the major players on the project that I had been removed from the project completely due to incompetence and never to talk to me about the project.

She did not tell me I was off the project. The next day, when I was back in the office, she arranged another meeting, without me knowing, that included loads of other people and she reiterated the same thing – that I had been removed from the project and never to talk to me about it.

I didn’t even know the meeting was happening.

Not knowing I had been removed from the project I kept working on it, but wondered why I stopped getting replies from the others who were involved.

A week later, in a meeting with all the other ‘major players’ in attendance, my boss reprimanded me constantly, in front of everyone, for not knowing I had been removed from the project. That was the first time I knew I’d been removed from the project and was seriously depressed.

My role on the project was reduced to that of background support, with no involvement in anything substantial.

My boss took over the entire running of the project… and from then onwards absolutely nothing happened for 3 months.

Every job that I had been progressing with stalled, was set back, was done completely incorrectly and the entire project temporarily derailed.

The stupidest thing I did was start working on the project again, purely because I saw nobody else was doing anything and I hoped it might make my boss treat me fairly if I saved the darn thing.

The February 21st “Go-Live to the Public” date had long passed when I started picking up little jobs that I knew I could quickly get done. By the end of March of course the project was way past its due date but, instead of it being a case of “holy crap OP, thanks for saving this project”, it had instead become possible to pin all the blame on me, because to anyone who didn’t know – it might look like I’d been in charge all along! My boss started with the “this should’ve been done months ago” routine.

On April 1st we technically had our Go-Live to the Public day with a battered, piece-of-crap website running off a messy, idiotic SQL database.

There was still an absolute mountain to climb in terms of getting crap done, but since we’d “Gone Live” the 3rd Party Support team who helped me through the whole project asked my boss to sign off on the project.

On April 4th my boss allowed the company to sign off on the project so that, for the rest of the mountain of work that had again become mine, I had almost no support on a unique system that no one else understands.

Most of the time I tried to work on something from then on the 3rd Party company would ask for payment since the boss had stupidly decided to host on this company’s servers, and only my boss was able to authorize payment.

I chased her constantly about it, but until I actually approached our ‘account manager’ myself 2 months later, she did nothing, but was able to use the fact that a lot of jobs, now assigned to me, weren’t getting done, as a means of making everyone else think I was the reason the website sucked!

From mid-March until the end of May I worked 110% on the project with this crap going on.

Everything I completed, my boss took credit for, everything that didn’t get done my boss used to discredit me.

In mid-May, a catch-up meeting was demanded by the Directors of the charity to find out why the project was doing so badly, so my boss instantly – the same day – started setting me up to take the blame with “as you know, this job was on the list months ago,” “if you remember, this job requires you to fix ” etc.etc.etc.

The meeting was scheduled for May 30th and I knew what was coming. Just like dozens of other meetings before my boss was going to crap all over me in front of everyone.

There were 2 weeks until the meeting, and my boss went on holiday, so I started to prepare my defense.

I created a folder full of printed-out emails that I could use as evidence against her. I anticipated every attack she would make. It really paid off in the end.

On May 28th, the first day after she got back from holiday, two days before the meeting, she had me come alone into her office.

She said the failure of the project was entirely my fault, that I blamed others for my own mistakes (which was pure hypocrisy), that I was incompetent, that I was lazy, that I had a bad attitude, that I should not be working in the IT sector, that I was not intelligent enough to work in “an office atmosphere”, she offered mother-like consolation to me as I tried to explain, as calmly as possible, how she was wrong.

It was gut-wrenching. She truly is an abomination.

After the meeting, I went straight to the charity’s HR Director in the first of many meetings that would become my formal grievance against my boss.

I ended up standing my ground in that meeting though.

I didn’t give an inch. The next day, May 29th, my boss approached me again and tried to get me to break again, but I held firm and corrected her on every bit of bullcrap she tried to make me believe.

She was shaking a lot. I again went to the HR Director.

Bear in mind that this is a snapshot of just 1 project we worked on together. I would say though it encompasses at least half of the crap she put me through, and it was the reason I eventually lodged a grievance against her.

The next day my boss took away all the jobs from me again and once again screwed me over.

She also finally got in touch with the 3rd Part Support company, threatened not to pay them, and then finally all those jobs I had lined up to be completed were done – which my boss took all the credit for (look how quick she was able to do it after I had spent months!)

The day after that I formally emailed the HR Director and began the grievance process against my boss.

First of all my emails began disappearing, the ones which could be used as evidence. My boss actually changed the password to my domain account and deleted a lot of emails I could have used against her – this all helped in my grievance though because I had most of them, the important ones, printed out and backed up.

I began making weekly backups of all my emails and set it up so that every email that entered my Inbox was automatically forwarded to a personal e-mail account. I made backups of all my work on our shared network because that started looking weird too.

I lost a lot of weight from stress. Last year I took 4 days off sick – during June, I had 8 days off sick.

Despite the ongoing grievance, my boss went into overdrive. She had meetings with everyone she could convince that I was a jerk and proceeded to utterly screw me over.

Our 3rd Party IT Support almost refused to work with me because they thought I was telling everyone they were crap.

When the tables turned on my boss after I delivered all that evidence to the HR investigators, her only option was to take A LOT of time off work.

On the day the judgment was delivered, that my grievance was “upheld” on all points, my boss went home early.

For almost the entire month of July, my boss was “off sick.”

On July 30th the Directors of the charity announced a full staff meeting in the charity at which they announced that my boss had “resigned” – but I later discovered she was fired.

The next day, a massive “unofficial” staff party was announced with – I kid you not – a “ding dong, the witch is dead” theme. I thought it would be wise not to attend though, as I have to continue to keep all of this confidential.

My boss continues her malicious behavior though. She’s now resorted to meeting individually, outside of work time, with those staff members who didn’t hate her (mind you, there are very few who didn’t hate her) and those wealthy members of the local community who are involved with the charity, essentially to fish for evidence she can use against me and the charity as a whole for firing her, but also to continue her campaign of discrediting me personally.

There are going to be a lot of relationships that will take a long time to mend.

It’s like being constantly pursued by an evil entity that actually goes out of its way to hurt you.

It’s difficult to completely relax about it all, but I’ve just come back from two amazing holidays and I’ve kind of gotten used to it. I still feel like there will be something waiting for me in the future, but I think her options are all out and I can finally move on with my life.

The really crappy thing is that everyone comes across so many of these malicious people in life. I find it really difficult to trust anyone. It seems so difficult to continue life as normal when you might have someone who will dedicate themselves to hurting you.

My old boss was the “Head of Operations” for the charity but is now a secretary at an auctioneer after what seems like six months unemployed.”

9. Be The World's Worst Teacher? Bring On The Waterworks

“This happened over 20 years ago.

A little backstory: I had a really awesome teacher when I was in third grade. Mrs. A was somewhat stern, but she was always fair and the kind of teacher that cares about their students and their individual needs, something that was necessary for our class, since back then, learning difficulties (such as dyslexia, ADHD, etc.) weren’t really contemplated due to general ignorance about these topics and we were part of a rather poor district (sometimes teachers didn’t have chalk to write on the blackboards, no joke).

As a result, we were a very heterogeneous class, just grouped together because of our age, with some kids seriously struggling to keep up and others getting bored since we had to go over every topic several times.

Mrs. A solved this by grouping us kids who had it easier with kids who often needed more help, and explained that with cooperation and kindness we would make the best of that academic year.

It worked like a charm. I (amongst others) wasn’t bored anymore and I loved to help my classmates, and we all knew that if it got to be too much, Mrs. A would have our backs.

In the spirit of full disclosure, while I was an introverted (not to be confused with shy) and well-behaved kid, I always tended to be outspoken. I was never disrespectful, but you can bet your butt that if I didn’t agree with something, I would speak up.

Especially when it came to unfairness.

Fast forward a few months, we were in the middle of the school year and the district sent a young woman who was about to become a teacher to have her final practices with us before getting her degree.

(I don’t know if this happens in other places, but it’s common around here, and these practices are very important for teachers that are just a step away from their degrees.)

So, one fine day, we were introduced to one Ms.

Saccharine Smile (let’s call her Ms. SS, shall we?) and the first impression I got is how darn patronizing this woman was. Now, I was 8 years old then, I had no idea what being patronizing entailed, but I was not stupid, and whenever Ms.

SS would answer a question, her responses just seemed off, kind of forced, and just shy of being followed by an eye roll.

Usually, when a student takes up a classroom, the main teacher (Mrs.

A in this case) remains in the classroom and sort of supervises the practices, to later write a report that will carry weight in the decision if the student will get their degree or not.

Unfortunately for us kids, Mrs. A got a really bad cold and the school couldn’t find a sub. The school decided eventually that since Mrs. A would be absent for no more than two weeks and the other 3rd-grade teacher, Mrs.

P, offered to check in on us regularly despite having her own class, we would make do with Ms. SS because she seemed to be doing great so far.

When the first day of Ms.

SS’s flying solo arrived, the first thing she did was re-arrange the sitting organization. She claimed we talked too much and wasted her time (which was true in a way, since in order to explain something to a classmate, we’d have to talk, but whatever).

Several of us explained why we were sitting in groups and that it had been Mrs. A’s prerogative, to no avail. She sat us according to alphabetical order, which landed me next to one of my best friends, another girl who had no issues with learning, while our old partners stared balefully from across the classroom knowing what was coming.

By the end of the week, the class was descending into chaos, while Ms. SS’ temper and answers to our questions turned sharper and sharper, chastising us for “interfering and trying to do her job,” and at the same time, she didn’t seem inclined to explain the subjects more than once.

My classmates stopped asking questions, even when it was clear they didn’t understand because they preferred not to be snapped at.

Friday rolled around and Ms. SS was trying to introduce us to geometry in a rather convoluted way.

The topic was simple: what’s the difference between “form” and “shape.” Now, here she could have easily said “a shape is a drawing, while a form is an object”; but she was going all academical on us from the get-go, speaking of three and two dimensions, and while those of us who had no issues understanding, the kids with more difficulties were frowning like it was their job.

So naturally, when one of my classmates tapped my shoulder and asked what the teacher meant, I turned around and explained in my words.

When I turned back towards the front, Ms. SS was staring at me, lips pursed, hands on her hips, and if looks could kill…

Ms. SS told me rather harshly that I was being disruptive yet again (because yes, throughout that week, whenever a classmate would ask something, I’d answer. It was a no-brainer for any of us given that was the dynamics we were used to), and that “if I was hungry for attention, the classroom wasn’t the place to get it.”

Yeah, no.

I had enough.

I knew Mrs. P (the other 3rd-grade teacher) would come eventually, so I waited.

Soon enough, Mrs. P’s head showed up around the corner and asked how are we doing. Ms. SS smiled sweetly, claiming we were doing just fine, and I suppose Mrs.

P must’ve seen something in our faces because she looked at Ms. SS again and said she’d stick around for a bit.

Mrs. P sat down, Ms. SS carried on with her 2D vs. 3D explanation, and the first chance I got, I raised my hand.

Me: So, Miss, basically, what you’re saying is that a shape is a drawing, and a form is an object, right?

Ms. SS: No, that’s not what I’m saying.

Me: But isn’t a drawing a representation in two dimensions? And isn’t the difference between them that I can draw or write over a shape, but I can’t have two forms in the same space at the same time?

Ms.

SS: No, OP, that’s not what I mean with dimensions.

Me: Then what do you mean?

By then, Mrs. P stood up and headed towards the chalkboard, so I seized the opportunity. I asked if I could explain what I mean and Mrs.

P agreed. I drew a couple of figures and demonstrated I could draw over them, replacing them with another figure without erasing the first one. I walked back to my table, grabbed two books, and explained I couldn’t do the same with forms because forms occupy space and that’s the difference between 2D and 3D.

I saw my old seatmates nodding in understanding and I sat back down.

Ms. SS probably wanted to end me by then, but Mrs. P said, “Well, OP’s not wrong.”

What followed was a garbled explanation by Ms.

SS stating how “disrespectful and disruptive” I’d been all week, “interrupting all the time in order to discredit her.”

As if stating an 8-year-old being after your head wasn’t laughable enough, Ms. SS left the classroom in a cloud of self-righteousness and came back with the vice-principal, to whom she repeated the same accusations.

The VP, being a rational person, left Mrs. P in charge of the classroom and took both Ms. SS and me to her office. By the time my mother was being called, Ms. SS had gone ahead and turned on the waterworks, and I thought, well, if she was going down this road, I would not only follow; I’d.

go. to. town.

I started crying, explaining between sobs how some of my classmates had trouble understanding some subjects and that Mrs. A had always encouraged us to help each other and that’s what I was trying to do, but it was so, so hard because Ms.

SS had changed the class organization. The VP then turned to Ms. SS and tried to get a coherent explanation as to why she’d done that.

My mom showed up by then, as I was sipping a glass of water (an effort from the VP to calm me down) and I was instructed to wait outside the office while the adults discussed the problem, so I never got to hear said explanation.

I do remember thinking, though, that Ms. SS’s tears seemed real by that point.

A couple of days later, I overheard my mom talking to my grandfather as she told him she didn’t think Ms.

SS would be graduating that year.

I’m not sure if that’s what happened because the last time I saw Ms. SS was when I was returning to my classroom and she tried (in vain) to wipe from her cheeks the black tracks of her running mascara.”

8. Try To Get Me Fired Over Petty Things? I'll Expose Your Major Offenses

“Private security was my field up until a few years ago. When I say security I don’t mean mall cops, but high-end, armed trained security. I spent a few years working a job in another city away from home, but the company went under so I decided to move back home.

I found a security job online, it was simple entry-level basically sitting behind a computer. You were security for the building but monitored security for other sites the company owned across three states. Like small repair places, factories, places where they stored vehicles, etc.

So I submitted my resume. The next day a guy calls and sets up an interview, awesome because I needed to find work fast. Went to the interview, conducted by a woman I’ll call Jane.

She was the supervisor and the guy I talked to was her boss. Jane immediately told me I was way overqualified, which I found strange but ok. The interview went fine and I left.

A few hours later she called and said I was hired and set up training days.

Now I won’t go through that, just wanted to give background so let’s go to the good parts. She always gave me a cold shoulder.

Her boss found out I have all the qualifications, licensing, and training to be armed, so he had me come in armed. Nothing fancy, handgun, 3 magazines, and handcuffs, she would always make comments about how everyone should be armed (a few of my co-workers I wouldn’t trust with a water gun) and she should decide who is armed.

Just little comments to get under my skin. Then one day it happened.

I was working the front desk/reception that day and she sends me a message over messenger telling me she needs to see me.

I go back and she drags me to a side office with a write-up form. Apparently, when I added door access to the visitor’s badge, I added the door to the gym in the basement, a mistake but not life-threatening.

A week later I didn’t sign my timesheet, another for not filling in a form correctly. All minor things everyone has done or did.

The end came about 9 months into the job when I looked at the new time sheet.

I was paired with a new officer who had been there a month, only he was listed as a shift supervisor. Confused I took it to her second in command, I’ll call him, Bob, a great guy.

He told me that he brought it up, that I had the experience and seniority to be promoted and she basically told him to screw off it was her choice.

Anyways that got me mad.

So I started planning my revenge. I don’t normally do this but I knew one more write-up I would be fired no matter how minor the infraction was. The good thing is during the night shift there are only 2 people and we can’t see each other’s computers.

So I started thinking.

I remembered about 4 months prior her car broke down in the parking lot across the street. Instead of having it towed, Jane’s father decided to fix it there. No big deal.

Only during that time, Jane was bringing her husband back into the security office. This was a huge deal, the office took scanning at 3 doors and a keypad to enter. In the whole building, only the security staff and one cleaning guy had access.

It was the Hq of the company and not even the executives had access. From our computers, we could open any door, turn off any camera or alarm and open any gate in any building that the company owned.

So it was a big deal because we had the keys to the kingdom. That was a huge freaking violation, so I hatched my plan.

Under the excuse of having a smoke, I went out to reception and copied the visitor log from those days.

I then went back in and accessed the video feeds, you could go back a year for all video feeds, and took screenshots of her husband entering the doors and office, the office itself had no camera, as well as with time stamps, him leaving and the fact he never swiped in, which following someone into a door, even if they hold it open you must scan your card, I logged onto my private email and sent it to another email knowing they don’t log what you do on the computers.

I got home and sent all the pics, the log copies, and everything to not only her boss, but his boss whose job was investigating breaches and theft. I also included every dirty trick she pulled playing favoritisms etc.

The fallout didn’t take long. 2 days later, on a Friday, I went in for the afternoon shift and Bob was at Jane’s workstation. I looked confused and said Jane was suspended for a week and that Monday I had to come in and speak with her boss and boss’s boss, but I would be paid for it.

Also, everyone was interviewed. It was great rumors were flying I was laughing on the inside.

Ok interview day. I go in and they started questioning me. They knew I worked while she brought her husband in and asked me.

I spilled everything after acting scared and getting assurances it would be confidential and I won’t be punished, I didn’t tell them I sent it but they asked everyone. I left out some things in the email and added some things that weren’t.

I didn’t want to be labeled as a snitch. It went on for an hour and I left. The next day an email is waiting, Jane was fired, and Bob was in charge until a replacement is added.

I had a long talk with Bob that day. Turns out Jane was scared of me because I was more qualified for her job than she was and knew I was her boss’s golden boy.

She was afraid, rightfully so it turned out, that I might take her job and admitted to him she wanted me gone. A fact he told them in his interview. Also that she didn’t want to hire me, but her boss made her.

Turns out her boss was aware of things and looking for an excuse to fire her but it had to be big.

Jane had been working in that department for 10 years. It was her first real job and security was all she knew, they blacklisted her which means unless a company was really desperate she wouldn’t get a security job anywhere in the state.

The icing on the cake.

I know you want to know. Yes, I was offered her job, but no I didn’t take it. I told them that Bob deserved it more, he did, and that I would be happy being a shift supervisor. So that’s what I stayed for the next 2 years until I left.”

7. Creep On Your Employees? Watch Your Website Get Destroyed

“This adventure plays out over the course of a couple of months. This story is mine as well as my two friends, Cassie and Alyssa. Note that everyone was paid under the table, yes I know it was dumb.

I had just gotten out of the hospital and was looking for a low-effort job that would allow me to take in a bit of income while still being able to recover. Luckily enough, Cassie calls me asking if I’d be interested in becoming an in-house photographer and videographer for the barn she worked at.

They needed promotional materials and wanted to offer my services as a package for events.

A bit of back story on the barn, it offers these services:

  • This is Canada so -30 winters.
  • Is way out of the way.

15 minutes out of my small town. Without seeing it online you wouldn’t see it unless you drove past the range road.

  • Trained and boarded horses.
  • Taught kids to ride.
  • Had day camps.
  • Did parties, and so on and so forth.

It is owned by an absolute battle axe of a woman named Sarah.

She owns many of the horses, did much of the training of both animals and students (contract with local High Schools), and has absolutely no idea how to run computer technology. Due to this last fact, Cassie and Alyssa became the defacto managers of the entire place.

The three of us were in charge of everything more complicated than a pager.

Everyone answered to Cassie/Alyssa (they were basically inseparable) while I took care of the tech, with the exception of the website which was owned and maintained by Cassie.

The four of us were the only people who worked there that were being paid as absolutely everything else was done by volunteers. There were youths, elders, and students. None of them paid. All of them hated Sarah and loved the three of us because we weren’t jerks.

Another fact about Sarah, she cannot get a relationship. She’s an old and angry horse lady so she just naturally exudes an aura of hate that drives people away.

Bringing us to Rick. Rick was one of the aforementioned volunteers.

A lovely English man who moved here due to my province’s industry and worked at the Barn in his downtime. Sarah was immediately infatuated. Unfortunately, the ~20-year age gap was incredibly off-putting for Rick so he attempted to maintain a business relationship, Sarah did not appreciate this.

Cassie and Rick however were much closer in age and hit it off perfectly on the other hand. So Sarah was jealous of someone ~30 years younger than her over a man who refused her.

This led to Sarah loudly reprimanding Cassie over absolutely every infraction possible. Anywhere. Anytime. Including in front of children. The ones I can remember:

  • Spending too much time with Rick during work. (They work together.)
  • Spending too much time with Rick outside of work.

    (This comes up later.)

  • Being late. (Just untrue.)
  • Insulting Sarah. (She only told Alyssa and me what happened during a breakdown, no insults were thrown by her.)
  • Letting personal issues affect her work. (Cassie had just gotten out of a difficult relationship but she kept it all very professional.)

Alyssa and Cassie are very close as I said so Alyssa naturally got a little bit of the flak due to that friendship but nothing of note.

I did not as Sarah was only like this to women and I am not one, I kept my head down as long as she paid me.

All of this had been going on for about two months.

After two months of Cassie getting crapped on every single day while also doing Uni, she was starting to crack under the pressure. As I said before, Cassie was getting reprimanded for hanging out with Rick outside of work too much.

We were all very confused by this for many reasons, namely, how the heck did she know and why the heck did she think it was okay?

We solved the how a few days later when Cassie’s mother saw Sarah’s very distinctive purple convertible driving past their house, slowing down as it passed.

I live across the street from them and personally witnessed it a few times whilst in my backyard (can see the street). By our count, it happened 3 or 4 times a day off and on for weeks and that’s just what we saw, supposedly she would also drive past the bars where Cassie and Rick would hang out to check if their cars were there.

Beyond jealousy, we were never able to solve the why, unfortunately.

The stalking was the final straw. Sarah had gone too far weeks ago but this is way beyond that. Cassie calmly walked into the communal office and informed Sarah that she would no longer be working for her due to the above reasons and that she owed her for unpaid time, Sarah proceeded to have a screaming fit about how Cassie needed her and other such insanity while Cassie walked out, said goodbye to the volunteers, took her things and left.

A few days later, Alyssa proceeds to inform Sarah that she is pregnant and will be leaving as well due to an unhealthy work environment. I have no guts and just sent her my invoice for unpaid work (which took five months to pay) and ghosted Sarah for a while.

On top of all of this, the volunteers had for the most part only stayed this long for Cassie and Alyssa which led to all of them leaving.

So she was left with:

  • No office staff.
  • 1/20th of her hard labor workers.
  • Brand new invoice software that she had no idea how to use, she could puzzle out the old one.
  • Three fairly large bills for unpaid work.
  • Several events lined up which she was screwed for because of everything else.

Some people might think that that was the revenge.

We somewhat accidentally crippled her operations but no. Sarah decided to not pay Cassie and me. I eventually got paid less than half of what I was owed several months later after numerous calls.

Sarah didn’t want to pay Cassie. Cassie did not argue after the first few phone calls, she simply acted. Earlier I mentioned both that the business was impossible to find without prior knowledge from the website or getting lucky as well as that Cassie owned and maintained the website.

Cassie and I worked out that we would take everything that was ours and leave Sarah to figure it out.

In the space of a few hours, Cassie had informed Sarah what was happening followed by deleting absolutely everything from the website and purging all pictures she had taken for Sarah that she hadn’t been paid for.

At the same time, I was doing the same for all my videos, I had access to the YouTube channel and was taking down everything I still owned as well as clearing the backups that Sarah could access if she was able to figure it out.

To this day, two years later. Her business has not recovered. Her website is an early 2000s disaster with iPhone4-quality photos in place of my semi-professional photos. She has absolutely no videos promoting her various services, the list of services has been almost cut in half.

She lost her contracts with both of the High Schools due to Cassie and I talking to one while that one talked to the other. This business went from being incredibly popular and lucrative to being nearly dead in the space of a few months.

She sold off most of the animals and absolutely everyone in the horse industry of our area knows what she is like (Cassie and her new barn are fairly popular there) and refuses to deal with her.

All of this for a total of $2,500. Which she paid $2,000 off in the end anyway.

In the end, everyone turned out happy.

Cassie becomes a teacher this year. Alyssa had an adorable baby. I have a semi-decent tech career. Sarah owns a failing business and still has no chance with Rick. Rick is still English and is still in a “will they, won’t they” with Cassie.”

6. Mock The Death Of My Mother? Watch Your Bank Account Go To Zero

“My now ex-wife Kate and I moved to an apartment in 2010. The house as a whole was a renovated townhouse split between two sides with two apartments on the bottom and two apartments upstairs addresses (ending in 126-128 accordingly).

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the apartment as it was a much older building than I had ever lived in but I quickly adjusted to the wood creaking throughout the night. On the initial walkthrough, we noticed that the only problem was that there was a dip in the bathroom ceiling.

The landlord, Jay, promised us that he would get it fixed ASAP.

One year to the day that we moved in there was a loud crash at 4 AM. The bathroom ceiling had collapsed and there was tiling and wood all over over the floor and in the bathtub.

Now Kate was typically the aggressive one, while I was more passive and laid back, and she kept calling Jay throughout the day. When she got in touch with him at around 9 PM she explained what happened and insisted that it be fixed immediately.

Jay rebuffed, yelling that he knew a lawyer personally, and he didn’t need to do anything. Now, this is where I got mad. I went outside to call him myself. I feigned a relaxed demeanor, and at first, he began trying to talk to me as a “bro” and kept saying “Dude, I’m gonna get someone out there but it’s gonna take a few weeks..” When he couldn’t sway me that way he began yelling about his partner and her knowing the law.

What he was unaware of was that I had read the tenant laws in my state and so, as he tried to lie I waited until he was finished, and I then recited the law stating that, if an apartment was considered uninhabitable then the landlord needed to pay for the tenant to stay in a place until it was resolved (Meaning he would have to pay for us to stay in a hotel of OUR choosing every night until the ceiling was fixed).

He tried to say that our upstairs neighbor Phil was the super, but he wasn’t sure if he could get him down there that night. He placed me on hold, then came back a few minutes later and said that Phil and his partner were out of state.

I rang Phil’s doorbell and asked, with Jay on speakerphone, if he was assigned as the super. He laughed and said “No.”

Dejected, Jay said he would have people out there the next day (previously he said they were busy for at least three weeks).

There’s more to this incident, but it led to two conclusions:

  1. If you’re going to lie then there has to be consistency in your lie AND make sure that the people you lie to DON’T communicate with each other.
  2. This is where a feud started between me and Kate versus him and his mother (she was the original landlord and gave the house to him so he could begin to make a side profit).

Fast forward to a year later.

Jay stopped coming to the house and his mom began doing the pick-ups. Around this time my ex and I had been laid off and we were working with social security for food, health, and housing insurance.

We were approved for all three in April but we would not get the check until May. When our typical check wasn’t in the landlord’s mailbox he immediately gave a summons saying that he was taking us to court for eviction.

The day we went to court he had no lawyer and, going before the judge, here’s the summation (or rather a non-verbatim account) of how the case went.

Judge: Does the defense have the means to pay within 90 days of non-payment?

Us: Yes, your honor.

(hands over paperwork showing that he will be reimbursed for April and May)

Judge: I see no problem. They are breaking no laws. Why are we here?

Jay: Well your honor, they have been bullying-

Judge: I don’t care, unless they are breaking a law then this case is dismissed.

Suffice it to say Jay and his mother were NOT happy. Around this time in my life, things were tumultuous. My mother, who had been battling lung cancer for four and a half years, succumbed to it in June.

This happened at roughly the same time his mom came knocking, looking for payment. I explained that I would leave the check in the mailbox when we got back from the funeral home and to please just respect my right to mourn.

She took her fingers and began rubbing them together, pretending to play the world’s smallest violin.

I will never forget what she said next, “Oooh, my mommy just died. Woe is me. She probably had it coming.

I don’t care if your entire family is dead. I want my bucks.” She smiled smugly, proud of what she had just said.

I saw red and my heart jumped into my throat. I went, grabbed the check, and handed it to her in absolute shock that anyone would say something so…messed up? She had finally managed to push a button that very few people I’ve known throughout my life have gotten close to pressing.

I went into rage mode but not in the way you would expect.

We were always told that if a health inspector came by to not open the door. I waited until Aug. since that was the month before the lease was going to run out and we knew they would not extend a renewal.

I walked up the block to town hall to ask for a health inspection of our property. It was scheduled for several days later. Now it’s important to know several things:

  1. I was friends with all of the tenants.

Phil had moved out with his fiance but the new tenant was a really cool girl around my age named Dani. Tom and Hana on the other side of the downstairs floor had moved out in July and Jay was still looking to fill it.

The only one who wanted to stay out of this was Rose in the upper right apartment.

  2. I had gotten permission and her spare key so I could let the inspector in Dani’s apartment and I knew that I could use the back staircase on the right side to let him into Tom’s, now vacant apartment.
  3. I also knew that Dani was moving out in September a month after Kate and myself.

The inspector came and it was glorious.

He checked the exterior of the house first noting that wires were exposed, and there was an old empty dryer along with other odd clutter in the backyard. I brought him inside the shared entrance and, as I was counting on, he noticed that the last inspection dated back to 1994; 18 years.

This meant that for each year he did not have an inspection there would be appropriate fines. For our apartment we had black mold growing in our bathroom and the bubble in the ceiling had begun to re-grow to problematic proportions.

Upstairs, Dani’s apartment was suffering from leaks in the ceiling and it looked like her bathroom ceiling was also on the brink of collapsing. We then went to the basement. The boiler was on the verge of exploding, there were flammable items along with gasoline and a pack of matches sitting right beside it.

Two things that I did not know were:

  • The fire door that separated the two sides did not close all of the way rendering it moot (To be honest I had never heard of a fire door until that day).
  • On the right (128 portion) basement side there was a toilet.

A toilet that had blown up. It had coated the surrounding walls and the leakage prevented us from going up to the floor via the right side. The entire time the inspector was photographing and writing constantly.

We stepped outside and he said he needed to come back.

When I asked why he said he had run out of space to write down all of the infractions (he had filled the front and had written an entire page on the back portion).

I kindly and coyly asked, “Well, how much will it cost right now?” He scratched his head and said “Around 20-30k from what I can see but it’s probably going to be higher as this house was never licensed to be split into apartments.” I thanked him and he was going to come back with the county inspector (we were gone when that took place though I did ask him to send me a copy with the list of violations to my new address).

So we moved out at the end of August but I got the updates from Rose. Because he was the current owner he owed all current fines and no one new could move into the empty apartments until everything was up to code.

Because three out of four were vacant he was losing 4,500 in potential rent. He handed the property back to his mother and had to file for bankruptcy. Now here’s the other thing. Every time an old tenant left and a new one was coming in an inspection was supposed to be done.

Now that all of the financial burdens fell on her they looked into the records, and she was fined for each time she had broken that rule 750/per. By the end of the year, Rose had moved out so the place was hemorrhaging funds.

I sat back, proud of what I had done, and left it be.

Haha, no, screw that. I wasn’t close to done yet.

I felt like I had destroyed Jay but my real target had always been his mom.

I learned that she had eight properties throughout three towns in my county. I went to each one, spoke to the tenants, and said I was a concerned tenant from another property and asked if they had any problems with their apartments.

EVERY person I asked described the apartment in very poor to intolerable levels and that the mom was effectively a slumlord. She would ignore problems unless someone turned to litigations, she was threatened that they would summon the inspector, or, more often than not, the people would move out.

She’d refuse their deposit, and sink those into cosmetic repairs so that the apartment looked nicely furnished. People rarely fought back because she knew that the occupants were of upper-lower class minorities. So, being the concerned person I was, I went to the inspector of the other two towns and asked for an inspection to be done with at least one tenant, if not more, who would be awaiting the inspector when they came.

Turns out that she faced pretty much the same infractions on every apartment she owned. It turned out she actually had 12 apartments but I initially only knew about the ones that fell within my county.

The remaining properties in the next county over were given a mysterious heads-up to perform a surprise inspection. From what I can tell, Jay’s mom had been in the landlord business for about 35-40 years.

That collapsed quickly.

Since we moved literally one block down the road from our old one (54) I got to see Jay lose his primary source of income and have to claim bankruptcy BUT also saw that his mother was also trying desperately to find a buyer for all of the apartments so she could pay off the fines.

I learned two years later (2014) that she too had to file for bankruptcy. Jay and his mother camped out in front of our next apartment two days in Oct. of 2013 before she filed for bankruptcy (I’m guessing to scream at me and/or Kate) so I called the cops and said that there were strange people standing in a no parking zone and they kept looking up at the second floor.

A cruiser swung by and told them to leave.

I know I should have used the two months I spent monitoring everything to find a new job but this was the one and only time I wanted to cripple a person where they hurt the most; their wallets. I think I got my point across. None of this would’ve happened if you had just freaking fixed the ceiling before it collapsed Jay!”

5. Stiff Me What You Owe Me? I'll Damage Your Marriage

“Some years back I ended up doing work for this guy I’ll call D. It was just a side job for extra money, not my career or anything. D had a small business, it’s boring, I won’t get into any of that.

Before me, he had one other employee so I made two. Just two employees, that’s how small a business it was.

The thing was, D ran his business like crap. I didn’t know the specifics of his financial situation but based on where he lived, the car he drove, etc., he was doing pretty well.

Maybe it was an inheritance or whatever, I didn’t know. But his situation clearly wasn’t due to this business, which again, he ran like crap.

In fact, he ran the business like such utter crap that after about six months after I started doing work for him, the business wasn’t making a profit anymore.

So instead of regular payments like usual, the other employee and I had to start asking where our earnings were before they showed up. Then the payments started getting more and more behind. Eventually, I was owed around $500.

Then one day the other employee tells me “I’m done. He owes me like 5 grand and I’m not going to keep working for nothing.” I was like whoa crap because I had no idea he was owed that much.

The trouble with pay clearly went back farther than I knew.

So D ended up coming to me and said “Look, I owe the other guy, and I need to pay him. Do you mind if I get him all paid up, which means I gotta hold off on your pay for a month or two? But once he’s paid off I swear I’ll make it all up to you.” Because I’m a freaking idiot, and because I felt bad about the first employee who was a good dude, I said fine go ahead.

So I didn’t get paid at all for a while, which upped my total owed to about $1500. Then eventually I heard from the other employee and he told me that D finally paid him everything he was owed.

Great, I thought, now it’s my turn.

LOL.

A few weeks after I heard the other employee was paid up (which I only ever heard from him, never from D) D told me he was closing the business.

Which didn’t shock me at all, surely it had been losing profit for quite a while. I go “OK, so where’s my payment?” and I told him exactly how much he owed me. I got back “uh…

well… the thing is… I can’t pay you now, but…”

This went on for a YEAR. I looked into what my steps were legally but I’d have had to file something in small claims court and it’s only $1,500, and having to get a lawyer would probably eat up most of it.

So I just kept bugging D about the payment. I was like “Hey, pay me $25 a month, I don’t care.” But he wouldn’t even do that. He told me about how he’s gotta go through all this stuff to dissolve the business and everything, and he’ll pay me as soon as he can, and overall he just avoided taking any responsibility.

At one point he said something about how people were currently suing him (big shock) and he’d get me in contact with his lawyers if I wanted so my debt could be added in or something.

I said “Fine, give me their names/numbers.” He never did.

Eventually, I realized that nothing was ever going to come of this and I was just gonna be out of what I was owed. But while I’d been doing the work for him, I had e-mailed back and forth with his wife maybe a dozen times.

To this day I’ve never met his wife, never even spoken with her. Just communicated through e-mail and text.

But she seemed really nice and she’d told me something like “D won’t tell you this, but he doesn’t really know what he’s doing with this business and I know you’ve been a big help.” So I just got the idea that, you know what, this next e-mail I send D about trying to get my payment, I’m gonna include his wife on it too.

So she knows how much he sucks.

I heard back from her almost right away and she was like “I’m so sorry about this, please keep me posted on what happens.” Then suddenly, magically, D started talking about working out a payment schedule.

He started sending me $100 every month and the debt got down to $1,000. I figured his wife must have got on his butt about it and I laughed to myself about how whipped ol’ D was.

But then the payment stopped coming again. The excuses started coming again. One day he told me that he was just going through a hard time financially right now, which I knew was bullcrap.

He still had the nice car, the nice house, etc. But it’s not like I had a printout of his bank records I could call him out on.

On that exact same day he told me that though, I was watching the local pro team’s baseball game later that night and who did I see but D.

In great seats no less, 2nd row right down in front, just off to the right. Every time they zoomed in on a right-handed batter, you could clearly see him. And this was in September in the midst of a playoff race so those tickets were not cheap.

It’s no Perry Mason moment, but the thought of replying to his “I’m having financial trouble” e-mail with a picture of him in those seats and me being like “Yeah, I can see that pfft” gave me raging justice confidence.

So I was looking for a good image of him to use, but every time I paused the video his face got somewhat out of focus. It was clearly him if you watched the video but I needed a still image that was also clearly him.

Then in the 7th inning, a foul ball got caught about two rows behind him and they zoomed in on that area of the crowd. And there was D clear as day, sitting with his wife.

I’m thinking aha, I got you now, jerk.

The next morning I replied to his prior message by sending that screen capture to him. I figured even if I didn’t get what I was owed, at least I had that one sweet moment of satisfaction of busting him there.

Then almost at the last second, I decided to send it to his wife too, just so she knew what was going on and how the payment had stopped again. And remembering how quickly D’s tune had changed that first time I’d included her, I even thought that maybe her being in the picture would make her light an even hotter fire under his butt this time.

So I sent it but I didn’t hear anything back from either of them. Two, three days went by, and nothing. Then I heard from the other employee I’d worked with. He goes “You hear about D?” I said no, what? “His wife kicked him out and filed for divorce.” I’m like ho-ley crap, no way.

“Yeah, apparently she caught him having an affair on her.”

I thought “Huh, I wonder how… hmm. HMM. You know what would be crazy? What if that wasn’t his wife in that picture… and I sent her that picture…

and… LOL, no. No way. He was probably talking about the divorce when he mentioned having financial trouble. That would make sense. The divorce was already in the works before the picture. Yeah. There’s literally no chance whatsoever that I inadvertently told his wife he was two-timing her.

LOL, I mean, come on. Right?”

Nope, that was literally what had happened. The woman at the game with him? Not his wife. Apparently, his wife knew the woman though and knew that D had lied about where he was that night and who he was with.

And a poop storm of epic proportions quickly followed.

I ended up e-mailing her not long after and being like “Um, hello there, I’ve been hearing some things and I can’t help thinking that picture I sent might have been part of this?” And she said she’d been meaning to contact me, she thanked me, said she’d wanted out of the marriage anyway, and said she might need me as a witness.

I didn’t know what for, are divorces like trials?

But anyway, she paid me the $1000 he owed me, plus another $500 on top. I don’t know if she thought he still owed me $1,500 or if she purposely gave me extra.

And I didn’t have to be a witness for anything, which was good.

Also, D’s nice car and a nice house and all? His wife was the one with the bucks. Meaning that he no longer has it.

They got divorced and he moved away and I have no idea what became of him.

Honestly, considering everything that happened, I feel kinda bad for him. But then I remember there was no reason he couldn’t have just paid me.

Seriously, why not just pay? He had the finances. I just chalk it up to D having a lot of negative karma coming his way and I played a part in it catching up with him.”

“I had a former boss owe me, too.

About the 5K your co-worker was owed (no, I am not him. D wasn’t my boss, although my boss was a jerk too.) The non-income for me then was a freaking killer. I spent all my savings to keep afloat.

I did get what I was owed back, though, which was in one lump sum. By then I was back on my feet and put it all away for safekeeping.

Not being paid sucks crap. Total crap.” channel_12

4. Like Being Sexist? End Up Bankrupt

“So within the last year or so I made a bunch of life-altering decisions. One of those was moving to another side of the country after being offered a job at a company in the state I wanted to live in.

My boss, we’ll call him Brandon, had known me for a while (I work in an industry where most people know each other and the key players) and had offered me a job knowing my criteria and many other things.

I was well qualified for the job he hired me for.

So I move across the country and I begin working. This company has a main office and a supplying warehouse, the supplying warehouse was where I worked.

No manufacturing done here, just supporting parts for the main office. Within a month the owner of the company, Viet, shows up at the office looking for my boss. (The main company is about 8 or 9 hours away so this was a long drive and the owner never came down to the warehouse, not since it opened originally 7 years ago).

My boss isn’t there (he usually isn’t and doesn’t need to be because I can handle it and he lives up the road if I need him). Viet immediately begins yelling at me. He never once speaks to me.

He yells at me the whole time he is communicating with me. Berating me on the fact I need to take inventory because the fiscal year is about to be up and that I need to maintain the warehouse and had I never done this before.

He gave me the third degree and treated me like an idiot. Meanwhile, I had texted Brandon and he showed up and Viet changed his tune completely. At that point, he didn’t even speak to me at all.

Didn’t even make eye contact. The two of them chatted and then Viet left.

I thought the interaction was weird and it’s been a long time since I was questioned on whether I could run a warehouse (I used to manage a 100K sq ft warehouse.

This was literally just the size of a large garage.) Over the next month, Viet would periodically call and yell at me about something here and there, but overall things were smooth and things were going alright.

One day I texted Brandon and told him I was going home for about half an hour because I needed to handle some paperwork for my apartment. Then I get a call from Viet.

He begins yelling at me. He tells me that he called the warehouse phone and someone answered and said I wasn’t there. (This isn’t possibly true, as no one worked at the warehouse except for Brandon and me).

He tells me I am not allowed to leave the warehouse unless I get permission from him because what if important calls come in and no one can get a hold of me (the phone has a connection for if it’s an emergency and will forward to my cell phone so that point was moot).

So I take care of what I’m doing at the apartment and get back to the office.

Brandon shows up at the office and told me that he was planning on leaving in a few months and to give me the warehouse because he couldn’t do it due to mental health stuff.

In this conversation, I had told Brandon how Viet talks to me and I was beginning to hate it because I was tired of being treated disrespectfully. We had a long talk and I was unsure but it all sounded like awesome opportunities for me to advance.

A couple of weeks later, Viet calls me and begins yelling at me. Then he asked me how long I had been at the office that day. I told him I had been there since 8:30 am (starting time).

He said I had been terminated a week and a half ago and Brandon should have told me this… I packed up my stuff and left the office. After calling Brandon and not getting ahold of him I went next door and told the neighboring warehouse guys what had happened and asked if they knew anyone looking to hire someone.

They said they had some work I could do part-time since it was crop season, and I could do some work there for a bit.

The next day Brandon is at the office and asked me to come over.

I did and he explained Viet was in the wrong on this and I could easily sue Viet if I didn’t get my paycheck by the end of the day (the law here dictates that you get your final paycheck within 24 hours of termination).

Brandon told Viet that what he did was wrong and I could sue him if I wanted to. Viet told Brandon that he didn’t want “that woman” to be a problem and to pay me whatever I want upfront, no paperwork, and to be quiet.

Hush bucks. He admitted he didn’t want me there and didn’t trust me to take over the company because I was a woman. That’s why he never treated me with respect. That’s why he questioned my abilities to handle this warehouse.

I am a woman.

After hearing this, Brandon was livid, and has since left the company or is working on his severance. (We don’t talk about it much, now.)

A few weeks after this all happened I called my dad and told him what happened.

My dad is one of those key players in the industry that I mentioned. I have been in this industry for a long time, due to having worked for the family business for nearly a decade.

My dad was so mad and said that he was going to drive that company so far into the ground that they can’t get out of it.

It’s been three months now. The company is very close to filing for bankruptcy and/or shutting down.

Viet thought he was losing profit before but now that one-day shipping from the main office is international shipping, they’re no longer able to support the products as well as when I was running the warehouse.

On top of that my father has gone in and offered every single one of Viet’s customers a free replacement unit (these are several thousands of bucks, for each unit) from the company and he will support the parts and take care of them.

So now my father’s company not only has a larger customer market now but he’s completely driven out all of Viet’s products and destroyed their customer base. This doesn’t include the fact that my father’s company was previously a large vendor for Viet’s company.”

“I never understand this.

Time after time, I read about companies/bosses/people just being utter jerks to other people that are different (gender, race, age, etc.) and think that they can get away with it. From a business standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense to anger anybody who might want to buy your products, unless they’re a racist jerk.” Dfiggsmeister

3. Won't Respect Your Freelancer? I'll Shut You Down With Legal Fees All Over A Photo

Yeah… Don’t use copyrighted content.

“This happened about 3 years ago. I was still in college for digital marketing (like advertising and graphic design). Since I had no time to work even a part-time job, I would do some freelance graphic design in the little time I had.

Mainly in the later hours of the night, I would still answer emails during the day though. It was good pay, a couple hundred here and there, but it wasn’t enough. The company that ran the cafeteria in my school went through bankruptcy and I was taken off our 21-meals-a-week plan.

I had to resort to putting (very) small ads in the newspaper and started looking for more jobs online rather than posting a listing on Craigslist as I previously had. I got a few good jobs, everything seemed great at this point.

Then the fatal night happened. I received an email at about 10:45 at night. It was mid-week so it was a bit odd for someone to be emailing me this late, especially since I had school the next day and they probably had work.

Right off the bat, I had a sketchy feeling about this, as the subject was “I need an ad made” and the message was “Ok?” As per usual, I respond right away asking for more details.

He said he had run a custom shower company and he wants me to Photoshop a picture, add text, and then format it for billboard printing.

He sends me the image and it’s a “custom” shower with two shower heads that are on.

He wants me to remove one of the heads. I tell him that it will be difficult due to the fact the streams are crossing. He replies “So? Just freaking do it.” I finish the ad for him and I’m about to watermark it so I can send him a final copy and then request payment.

Then I realize that it’s already freaking watermarked, faintly in the corner by another shower company, and it doesn’t match his. This absolute idiot stole a picture from another local company.

I tell him that I won’t do the ad because he was using a copyrighted picture and that I can replace it and keep the text.

He “rages” and claims that he took the photo with his phone earlier that week. At this point, I have better things to be doing, so I block his emails, as they were getting to be harassing.

Fast forward two weeks.

I get a call from an unknown number saying that I messed up and that he just paid another designer “big bucks” for the same job. These calls continue over the next week and I just start ignoring them.

Here’s where something magical happens. He starts texting me, but it’s with his actual freaking number. I think he tried to *67 me, but it doesn’t work through texting. This will come back to bite him in the butt when we get to the revenge part.

Here’s where the revenge comes in:

After the semester ends, I decide to drive around 2 hours to visit my parents for the week I have between the semesters. While I’m driving on the freeway I see something familiar.

It’s the photo the guy wanted me to make into an ad for him on a billboard. Then I realize that the ad on the billboard is for HIS FREAKING COMPANY, although he clearly didn’t hire another designer.

It looks as if he made it in MSPaint. I get off at the next exit so I can get a few pictures and write down the location.

When I get back from my parents’ house, I immediately start up my computer and try to get into contact with the company that owns the photo.

I send them the pictures and location along with his emails. They thank me and I happily go to bed.

Fast forward a month.

I get a call on a Saturday morning saying that the company that owns the photo needed me to come into their offices to discuss a few things.

Turns out that they ended up filing a lawsuit over the copyright issue as he still claimed it to be his photo.

The judge told me while I was in court (as a witness) that I would be able to file for harassment and get a restraining order.

Normally I wouldn’t care, but the harassment would go on his record.

Because of all the legal fees, his company went under. I later found out that he tried to start up another company of similar sorts, but he would have to tell his employees of his harassment charge. That company went under as well because he couldn’t find anyone to work for him.

Get screwed.”

2. Rudely Intrude On Your Neighbors? Wait Until I Become Landlord

“My husband and I are in our late 30s and child-free.

My husband and I had been saving up for almost a decade to move to a tropical paradise. About two years ago, we bit the bullet and moved to our dream location! Housing here is SUPER expensive (like Hawaii prices), so all we could afford was half of a duplex.

It is beautiful and on the water with places for our boat. Unfortunately, Karen, Billy Bob (the lover), and her three gremlins live in the other unit.

There is some period of time we just went for a week here and there, but we live here full-time now.

The entire duplex was owned by an older gentleman who rented out both sides. The sides do not match at all. One side is a 5-bedroom, 3-bath. The other side of the duplex is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath.

We bought the 5-bedroom. On our side of the property, we have 90% of the backyard, a gazebo, and dockage (about 150′ since it is on a corner). The other side has a small backyard, patio, and maybe 15′ of dockage.

The rental leases say the renters are entitled to their specific backyards, but there were no fences or anything, so all the renters shared the entire backyard. After we bought the house, Karen immediately tried to throw her weight around that they expected to continue with that privilege.

I told her if she asked politely, we would try to accommodate her. She thought this meant she could use our backyard whenever she wanted.

One day my husband and I are enjoying some drinks outside when a delivery truck shows up to set up a giant blowup thing in our backyard.

I asked Karen what the heck she thought she was doing and she said it was her kid’s birthday. Then she had the gall to say it was a family and friends-only event, so we had to stay inside our house! Not wanting to be a total butthole and ruin some little girl’s birthday, I told Karen after this she had no access to our backward, period.

Karen shrugged and kept setting up for the party.

During the party, an intoxicated adult wandered into our house which shocked us all. I said Karen’s house is on the other side, and he said, “Oh, Karen said she owned the whole property and to use whichever bathroom was available.” I directed him to Karen’s bathroom and soon after she came STORMING into our house, screaming about how dare we make her look bad to her friends and how selfish we are we couldn’t even spare one bathroom.

She said we didn’t deserve all this space with just us. I told Karen to get the heck out of my house or I would be calling the cops. She finally left and the party wrapped up shortly after.

After the party incident, we decided we needed to clearly define the backyard and build a fence. While we were spending the finances, we decided to update the patio, put in a fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen.

While the contractor was on-site, nosy Karen had to come to investigate. Since the fence would be the last thing built, I was vague and just stuck to telling her about the patio update.

You could see her face light up because of course in her mind, what’s ours is hers.

When the workers started on the fence, Karen came out SCREAMING for the work to stop. I went outside and told the workers to keep working and told Karen to butt out.

Of course in true Karen fashion… SHE CALLED THE COPS. What happened next was hilarity on my part after explaining to the cop that we were building a fence on OUR property and the landlord, of which Karen was NOT, knew about it.

When the cop gave Karen a stern lecture, I thought her head was going to explode. She went back into her house and slammed the sliding door so hard it sounded like something cracked.

We got our fence, and I thought that would be the end, but of course not.

One day, Billy Bob entered the picture and he was as much a terrible neighbor as Karen. He would throw smokes and cans over our fence for “disrespecting his woman.” I didn’t know paradise had trailer trash, but Billy Bob is the epitome of the stereotype.

Billy Bob has a boat. A 30′ fishing boat to be precise. Of course, that side of the duplex only has 15′ of dockage. Since we have so much dockage and only one boat, we rent out the other dockage spots month-to-month.

People come and go, so if we don’t receive rent from them by the end of the month and the boat disappears, we think nothing of it.

We had a renter who tied up their boat on the property line, but Billy Bob wanted to park his boat and needed that space.

Karen and Billy Bob posed as us (we were out of town), told the renters to be gone at the end of the month, and then parked Billy Bob’s boat on the dockage.

I only found out about it weeks later because the renter left a nasty review on the rental site we use.

They said we were rude and went back on the verbal agreement to let them stay for 3 more months. I was like “what the heck is all this?” After a phone call, I quickly put 2 and 2 together.

I called the cops who told Karen and Billy Bob they need to move their boat or it would be “towed” (the equivalent of it anyway). Karen and Billy Bob started screaming the boat is fully on their property (it isn’t), then changed to no one can own the water (true, but a seawall is deeded), that we are liars, and at some point, Billy Bob punched a cop and went to jail (I felt bad for the cops, so got them all snacks the next day with a note apologizing for neighbor drama).

I ended up winning my small claims suit against them for lost rental income, but of course, haven’t seen a dime. I eventually convinced the dockage renters to come back and gave them a few months free as compensation.

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations! Get ready for juicy revenge.

So with the collapsing market, we were trying to figure out what to do with our savings when a perfect opportunity opened up.

The landlord who owned both properties was in desperate need of some bucks and was tired of managing the property from 2,000 miles away (because of course Karen is a Karen and called him weekly for every little thing).

His only stipulation was we let the “poor single mom who has been his renter for 8 years” finish her lease, which is up in July.

Since we just have savings we were trying to reinvest and because now we get to control our neighbors, heck yeah we jumped on that! Since we didn’t need a realtor or mortgage and an inspection had been done just a year ago for the old landlord to refinance, everything closed in just under two weeks.

Karen was aware of a change of ownership (we registered the property under an LLC) but didn’t know who… until 8 days ago. I went over to Karen’s house and knocked on the door.

Karen answered with a “what the heck do you want, jerk?” I smiled, handed her our landlord information, and sweetly reminded her rent was due by Friday, but she could just hand me the check if that was easier.

I’ve always heard descriptions of people’s faces turning white, but this was the first time I have actually seen it!

I told Karen that we are honoring her lease until the end of July, but afterward, she had better make plans to move because we intend to remodel it before these next tenants moved in.

Bye Witch.”

“I think my favorite part of this story is that your revenge doesn’t involve suing or something and getting Karen to pay thousands of bucks. Oh no, you just smiled sweetly and bought her house.” CmdrNorthpaw

1. Cause Me To Resign From My Job? I'll Get You In Trouble With Your College

She was bound to get caught at some point anyway.

“I am a nurse. When I was in nursing school, I loved my rotation through ICU and wanted nothing more than to be an ICU nurse, because I eventually wanted to become a nurse anesthetist (ICU experience is required for anesthesia school).

My first job after graduation was not in ICU, but after 10 months as a nurse, I was offered a position in a Multi-system ICU. It was a training program for new nurses and I was told I would get 16 weeks of training.

Fantastic! I was so excited! Then right before I started, I was told, oops, no, you actually only get 6 weeks of training. Um, okay, kind of concerned that that’s not enough time, but I’m going to try my best.

I was somewhat apprehensive but still excited. Until I met my preceptor.

This girl was undoubtedly intelligent and knew her job, but she was so mean to me that I was regularly having near-panic attacks in the few weeks I worked there.

She would send huge emails to the educator about how much I sucked and would ream me out in front of other staff and patients (one time one of the other nurses had to intervene).

The other girl who started the program at the same time as me even said how awful my preceptor was being to me. She was also arrogant as heck, and always bragged about crap, like how her fiancé (who was a practicing nurse anesthetist and made a huge salary) paid such a big amount for her engagement ring and paid all this for his surprise proposal, and how once they were married and had kids if she wanted a thousand dollar baby stroller, that’s what he was going to buy her, and how her wedding was going to be so big and fancy and expensive and perfect.

And she was one of those people who was “super Christian,” and was fake nice and passive-aggressive when talking to you that it starts to make you wonder if you’re crazy for seeing the vile in them.

I hated her with the fire of a thousand burning suns.

She was ALWAYS talking about how she had never wanted to be anything but a CRNA, and everything she had done up to that point was for the sole purpose of being able to become a CRNA.

It was literally her life’s dream. So during the time I worked with her, she was also trying to get into anesthesia school. She would regularly come in and tell us how her fiancé would help her take the tests that were required as part of the admissions process for most schools since he was already a practicing CRNA.

Whatever, witch, if you want to lie your way through life, that’s your deal.

So after a few weeks of being so stressed out that I was making myself physically ill, I resigned. Found another job that I loved, but was still sad that I wouldn’t be an ICU nurse.

I looked her up a couple of years later because I was curious, and found out that they had moved to another state for her to start anesthesia school (lock down your profiles, people! You’d be appalled at the information people can glean about you from seemingly innocuous information and posts).

At that point, she was about a year into anesthesia school, and I remembered back to her bragging about how she conned her entrance exams to get into school.

So I emailed her school (it was a Christian school).

Told them about how she had frequently bragged about getting assistance from her fiancé on the entrance exams (this is considered academic dishonesty/misconduct), how that behavior is contrary to the values of the school and could reflect poorly upon them, and how she may have taken a spot from another student who was equally or more qualified, but who didn’t engage in academic dishonesty to get ahead.

This happened in late 2013/early 2014.

I then promptly forgot about the email and forgot all about her. Went on living my life. It is now early 2017. Remembered her and got curious about what ended up happening to her.

Scrolled through the public posts on her newsfeed. She’s still bragging about all the expensive vacations they take, about all the things her husband buys her, blah blah blah. She had posted a couple of times back in 2013 about anesthesia school, then suddenly, nothing.

Scrolling to newer posts, I see that in 2015, she started at a new school to become a nurse practitioner (recent posts show she is still in school but potentially almost done). Interesting. This girl has never wanted anything but to be a CRNA, was in school for it (and of course bragging about how well she was doing), and now suddenly she’s in school for a different career path? I wonder what happened? Could it be that perhaps my (truthful) email to her school was actually read, and they decided to act upon this information? I will never know, and I highly doubt she will be making that information known to anyone outside of her immediate circle.

Her new school is a very expensive for-profit school, which is typically not viewed as being as high quality as other schools because they’ll frequently let in anything that can pay. Was this the only school that would take her after her presumed expulsion for academic dishonesty? Again, I will likely never know.

Wait, she’s in school again. She’s almost done with school. I wonder if her new school is even aware of her admitted dishonesty. Well, I feel it is my ethical obligation to notify them of this information. So just this weekend, I emailed her new school. We’ll see what happens.”
