Loving Couple Adopts 6 Boys With Down Syndrome

Having people you can call family is one of life’s greatest gifts, and, luckily, there are lots of people out there who have overflowing love and care that they want to share with others, even those they’re not related to by blood.

Meet The Pinkertons

Shannon and Troy Pinkerton are a couple who are blessed with an endless supply of love from their family.

First Adoption

In 2009, Shannon and Troy adopted a young boy with Down Syndrome named Joey, who was 10 years old at the time.

Growing Family

They continued to grow their family, alongside their son Cody, with love and care by taking in five more teens and young adults with Down Syndrome.

Various Special Needs

Each of their adoptive sons, Joey (23), Julian (20), Devlin (18), Cameron (23), Anthony (25), and Tracee (28), has their unique challenges and special needs, some living with additional disabilities like dwarfism and non-verbal autism.

15 Happy Years

Since the Pinkertons first took Joey into their house fifteen years ago, it has been a fruitful and joyous journey now that they’re a big family of 9.

Sharing Their Stories

Shannon shares their family’s close relationship and unwavering love on social media by posting memories from their lives on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Life At The Ranch

Ranch life for the Pinkertons is never dull. Each boy contributes to chores suited to their capabilities. Devlin, for example, helps feed the horses, while Cam excels in handling the eggs.

A Fulfilling Journey

The Pinkerton family’s story is full of joy and adventures. Despite the heavy requirements and demands of the duties of raising children with special needs, Shannon and Troy find joy in having a big family they can call home.
