Zoe Eilbeck made quick arrangements with a friend to keep an eye on their dog for six weeks until they later retrieved her.

Their Friend Wouldn’t Be Able to Babysit Their Dog the Entire Time

While they agreed to watch Pip, they wouldn’t be able to watch her for the full six weeks. So, the friend searched for a temporary guardian for the dog.

And she was absolutely in good hands!

Then Came Time for the Eilbecks to Bring Pipsqueak Home…

Mrs. Eilbeck spent hours on end filing out paperwork to attempt to have Pip imported back to Australia.

But COVID-19 Restrictions Made Bringing Her Home Very Difficult

The family was unable to return to the U.S. to pick up Pipsqueak themselves, and exporting a dog was complicated as it involved a lot of paperwork, blood tests, and vaccinations.

At this point, they never thought they’d get her back.

They Had to Find Someone to Fly With Her to Los Angeles

After taking to social media, the family managed to find a woman, Melissa Young who works at a dog rescue organization, to fly east to west with Pip.

Pip Eventually Made it Back to Australia

Months later, the dog arrived in Melbourne, hours away from her home city.

At this point, quarantine was in full effect, and with no flights heading from Melbourne to Sydney, Zoe’s brother, Rob, had to care for Pip in the meantime.

But Thanks to Local Media, an Airline Stepped in to Help

On August 11, five months after the Eilbecks were forced to leave their dog behind, Pipsqueak arrived home thanks to generous yet bankrupt airline company, Virgin Australia.

She Sure Does Love Her Human Family, as Do They!

“When she heard our voices, she came barreling into our arms. It was absolutely amazing to have her back after all that time.” Zoe said. “She’s gone straight back to what she loves best, which is lying on our deck and contributing licks and joy.”

Pipsqueak sure had an interesting journey, but luckily, she’s back where she’s meant to be.
