Compassionate Detective Adopts Two Kids

It only takes a small amount of kindness to make a difference in the lives of people in need.

Meet Detective Mook

Jack Mook is a 22-year veteran of the force in Pittsburg.

Bachelor Life

Since he is a bachelor, he volunteers at a local boxing center where he teaches underprivileged kids during his free time.

Usual Faces

There were two brothers who usually go to the gym to get trained by Jack – 11-year-old Jesse and 15-year-old Josh.

There Was A Problem

When the two boys suddenly stopped going to the boxing center, Jack wanted to find out what was wrong and that’s when he learned that the two boys were living in an abusive and neglectful foster home.

He Took Them In

Jack found a way to get the boys out of the abusive home and decided to take care of them as their new foster parent.

A New Life

The two brothers were extremely grateful for the detective’s act of kindness to them. Josh said after moving in with Jack, “I slept the best I ever did that night.”

He Enjoyed It

Jack seemed to enjoy living with and taking care of the boys. He provided everything they needed and even helped them with their assignments.

Making It Official

In 2014, to make everything official, Jack took the two boys to court, signed their adoption papers, and officially made them Mooks.
