Newly Divorced Woman Adopts Kids Who Are Siblings Without Knowing It

Fate has unbelievable ways of making people’s paths cross one another without them knowing what’s actually happening.

Her New Dream

Katie Page had just gotten divorced and she moved to Colorado to start a new career and build a new life, but her ultimate dream was to have children, so she started considering adoption.

First Step

Katie’s pastor asked her if she would be interested in becoming a foster parent first as it seemed like a good first step toward adopting her own child, so she attended seminars and eventually became a certified foster parent.

She’s Ready

Katie knew she was ready to adopt after she had fostered four children. In 2016, a caseworker asked her to take in a newborn baby boy who had been surrendered to the hospital right after his mother gave birth.

Her First Baby

The baby was just 4 days old and didn’t even have a name. His parents didn’t try to reclaim him so their legal rights were terminated and Katie was able to legally adopt him after 11 months. She named him Grayson.

Another Call

Just weeks after Grayson’s adoption was finalized, Katie got another call from a caseworker that another baby had been left immediately after being born at the same hospital.

Meeting Hannah

Katie said, “I know over the next 10 minutes and subsequent phone calls I made that afternoon, the phrase ‘I know I am crazy, but God is telling me to say YES’ kept coming out of my mouth,” and she agreed to foster the baby girl named Hannah.

Same Mom?

When Katie met Hannah, she noticed that the first name of the little girl’s birth mother on her hospital bracelet was the same first name as Grayson’s birth mother, so she did some research and reached out to the woman.

Family Of Three

Katie had confirmed that the woman was Grayson and Hannah’s birth mother. However, she had no intention of claiming Hannah, so Katie adopted the little girl as well.

Another Addition

Later on, Grayson and Hannah’s mother gave birth to another baby boy that Katie willingly took in. Now she has a 1-year-old, a 2-year-old, and a newborn to love and care for.
