A Day Out

Banjo and his owner, Kerry, were on a cross-country ski trip in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when the dog started acting up.

He Followed Him

Kerry trusts in his dog’s skills so when he noticed Banjo’s “distinct tail whip and body movement when he’s around fresh animal scent,” he decided to follow him up to the woods to see what’s up there.

A Lost Dog

Lo and behold, Banjo and Kerry spotted a Golden Retriever beneath the trees looking lost, cold, and hungry. Banjo stayed with the poor dog while Kerry called animal control to help him contact his owners.

They’re Reunited

Kerry got on the phone with Julia and Brett Neufeldt, the dog’s owners, and put them on speaker. As it turns out, they were currently on a search party for Louie, the Golden Retriever, when they received the call.

He’s Okay

Julia and Brett were able to bring their dog back home that day. They brought him to the vet and found out that he needed some surgery on both knees, but thanks to Banjo and Kerry, they were able to find Louie before something worse happens.
