Tommy The Ox Holds World Record For Tallest Living Steer

Named after Tom Brady, Tommy the Ox is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).

Meet Tommy

Tommy is a colossal Brown Swiss steer who now lives in the New England countryside with his owner, Fred.

Their Story

Fred rescued Tommy from an auction in 2010 by buying him at $10.

Gentle Giant

Tommy continued growing unstoppably, but despite his big stature, he can be considered a gentle giant as his calm and peaceful demeanor defies his intimidating appearance.

He’s Great With Kids

He is loved by adults but he’s also fond of kids too. He would lower his head and allow children to reach up and pet him.

His Favorite Food

His diet usually consists of about 30 pounds of dry grain, over 75 pounds of hay, and 35-40 gallons of water daily but his favorite food is apples, and when apples aren’t available, he’s happy with cinnamon buns or carrots.

His Only Job

As Tommy has aged, he’s slowed down due to his sore foot. He now just enjoys his long naps and chews cud consistently, and according to Laurie, Fred’s daughter, Tommy’s role right now is just to keep her nearly 80-year-old dad young and active.

Record-Breaker

Because of his astounding stature, Tommy has gotten the title of world’s tallest living steer according to Guinness World Records.

Dynamic Duo

Fred’s family is honored to have Tommy as their “pet” and Laurie is happy that her father has found a best friend he gets to spend a lot of time with every day. She said, “The two of them are legendary. We are so honored and happy that we have such an amazing creature amongst us.”
