People Have Us Going Bonkers Over Their Pro Revenge

I'm a firm believer that nothing riles someone up more than negativity, whether we personally perceive it as good or bad. Finding out your partner was unfaithful, discovering your old high school bully got expelled from their dream college, or learning that your favorite celebrity committed a horrible crime: these are all things that we may take with strong emotion. Add "getting good revenge" to that list as well! Revenge might not always be the right or best thing to do, but it sure does feel amazing in the end. Even though you didn't commit the acts below, you'll still be so proud when you read them. We're curious about which one your favorite is! Make sure to let us know in the comments below.

12. Jack My Super Bowl Tickets? I'll Mess With Your Business

Nobody messes with someone’s Super Bowl tickets.

“I’m a huge 49ers fan (the rabid all-day tailgate in the parking lot type). A few years ago, we made it back to the Super Bowl. I was working at a consulting firm with a handful of accounts I would interact with directly.

One client, in particular, knew how big of a Niners fan I was. I was the day-to-day lead on his account. He really liked working with me and we became friends, often grabbing drinks or dinner after our meetings. He had access to a pair of extra company seats to the game, and as a thank you, wanted to give them to me as a gift.

He passed the tickets over to the partner on that account, who I will refer to as JerkheadPartner, to be given to me as a surprise.

The game came and went, we lost, it sucked. The next time we met, we went to drinks afterward and he mentioned “Hey, by the way, why didn’t you go to the game? I heard someone else was in your seats.”

I asked, “What game?” He said “The Super Bowl!”

Confused, I answered, “I didn’t have seats to the super bowl?”

He told me that he gave JerkheadPartner a pair of his company tickets for me as a gift so I could attend.

I had zero idea what he was talking about. He looked shocked, told me to quietly ask around about it and get back to him.

When I was back in the office the next week, I found out through one of the secretaries that JerkheadPartner had given a pair of Super Bowl tickets to another one of his clients as a gift from our company.

I might have let this sort of thing go to keep the peace under different circumstances, but these were seats on the 30-yard line to see the freaking 49ers play in the Super Bowl. I was livid. I considered confronting JerkheadPartner myself but realized it was the client who had noticed I wasn’t there in the first place, so if I let him handle it, there would be no blowback on me.

So I texted him “Hey, I just wanted to thank you so much for thinking of me with those seats. It appears that they were given to another one of our firm’s clients.” He texted back right away, in all caps, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME??” and then “Pretend I never told you, let me handle it.”

He followed up with me about formulating a plan.

A few days later, we were asked to come down for a meeting in their office. The client requested the partner be present, not entirely unusual, so JerkheadPartner and I hopped on a flight the next week and headed over to their office.

Little did JerkheadPartner know, my client had orchestrated a wonderfully awkward little show to catch him red-handed. When we entered the conference room, it was all the usual suspects along with a woman in her 30s we didn’t recognize. My client immediately introduces them.

“JerkheadPartner, this is Stephanie Suchandsuch, VP from (other department); she wanted to sit in on this meeting. Hey (OP), you guys must already know her from the super bowl!”

She then responds as she goes to shake my hand “Oh, I don’t think so.

Did we meet there? I’m sorry if I forgot.”

The client responds, “Jeez Steph, how much did you have to drink? They were sitting right next to you!”

The client looks at me, and I say “Sorry (client), I wasn’t there. Are you thinking of someone else?”

At this point, JerkheadPartner is looking visibly uncomfortable, probably trying to come up with an excuse.

He starts in with a “Uhm..” when Stephanie says over him “No, (so and so) from (other company) were in the other seats. By the way, I was wondering why we gave company seats to those guys, is there a project we’re working with them on that I don’t know about?” (obviously not, they were in completely different industries, it would be like Coca-Cola partnering with John Deere).

JerkheadPartner lets out an “Uh” again, and the client immediately speaks over him asking “JerkheadPartner, I gave you those tickets for (OP)?”

At this point, JerkheadPartner is turning bright red. He responds “Ohh, uhh, well he wasn’t able to make it, so he must have given the seats away to someone else?” and turns to me looking for me to cover for him.

The client smirks at me.

I respond “Uh, what are you talking about? Client, you gave me tickets to the super bowl??”

The client suddenly raises his voice “JerkheadPartner, those tickets were a personal thank-you gift from me to OP. Did you give them away to someone else? (pause) Was it another client??”

JerkheadPartner butts in with “Oh, uhm, maybe something got mixed up in the office?”

The client went quiet for what probably seemed like an eternity to JerkheadPartner.

He then looked down, grabbed his portfolio and iPad, put them into his briefcase, and said “I think this meeting is over. OP it seems as if I owe you a thank-you gift, let’s go to lunch. Stephanie, you’re welcome to join…JerkheadPartner, I need to evaluate our relationship, please go back home and expect to hear from us next week.”

JerkheadPartner suggests he would like to join, presumably to do damage control, and Stephanie sternly tells him “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” and asks the front desk to see JerkheadPartner out.

As soon as he is in the elevator, we all break out laughing hysterically. Stephanie wasn’t really a VP, just an employee at the company who the client had drafted into helping with his pre-planned meeting skit, but she did end up coming to lunch with us and was a fellow Niners fan and a total blast to hang out with.

On our way to the restaurant, I got a desperate text from JerkheadPartner saying I needed to “cover for the firm” and that we could discuss things when I got back. I replied, “Yes, we need to talk, but I’ll see what I can do.” The client told me to wait a couple of hours and then respond to him: 1) To expect invoices for the resale value of the super bowl tickets (resale is WAY above face value, it was over $10K) as well as our lunch (he picked a pricey spot and made a big show of overspending) and that he expected them to be paid immediately, 2) Expected I be given a direct apology, 3) Expected a written apology to his company for what he considered theft, and 4) He will only interact with me or another one of our firm’s partners, never JerkheadPartner.

This whole thing caused a stir with the other partners, and I actually came off looking great because it appeared that I had made a good-faith effort to save the client for the firm despite being the victim in this situation.

The client would transfer to another partner, which meant JerkheadPartner lost his profit share on any work with them. Oh, and the other partners in the firm made JerkheadPartner pay the invoices back out of his salary.

In retrospect, I really have no idea what the heck the guy was thinking.

Did he seriously believe the client would just not notice me not thanking him for Super Bowl tickets?

Anyway, the well was kind of poisoned for me there long term because JerkheadPartner wasn’t going anywhere. I left the firm a few months later for a much better position.

The client ultimately terminated their relationship with that firm a year later, he actually now works with a good friend of mine at a competing firm. I’m still livid I missed out on the super bowl even though we lost; hoping we make it back this year so I can finally go to one in person. Go Niners!”

“The worst part is that had OP actually BEEN at the game, the 49ers probably would have won! That’s how it works, as every football fan knows deep in their heart of hearts.” dishie

11. Assume His Job Is Super Easy? Give It A Try!

You’ll find out soon enough.

“Buddy is a very charismatic guy, a great friend, and probably a great co-worker. He’s the type of guy that everyone is fond of. Easygoing, and seems to have a knack for personal relationships. Always remembers birthdays, and if he hears that a band you like is coming to town, he’ll text you the news, that sort of guy.

Buddy works for a company that services industrial machinery. It was a small operation, there was Buddy, GoodBoss, Owner, The Kid in the warehouse, a couple of Technicians, and some Office Ladies who handled administration. Buddy was the pivot man in the operation, he was the point of contact for the Technicians and had great relationships with the Clients and the Vendors who supplied the parts.

He knew his job inside out, and everyone likes dealing with him. He gets things done.

Now the way this place worked was that the Technicians would send in their reports for the day after 4:00 pm. Buddy would look them over, looking for “Rockets”, these were high-priority jobs that needed to be done ASAP, as opposed to routine maintenance issues.

He would then email The Kid a list of parts to be picked. Buddy worked from 9 am to 5:30 pm and was on-call for emergencies. If a “rocket” came in after-hours, Buddy would email The Kid to add it to the morning order.

The Kid arrived for work at 7:00 am and would pick up parts orders for the technicians. These would be picked up by a local courier at 9:00 am, and taken to a depot. There were 2 major industrial areas in town, and the “depot” wasn’t more than a large mailbox in a post office in each area.

The technicians could avoid city traffic by going directly to the depots, which were very close to the clients. The couriers would get these boxes to the depots at about 9:30. Buddy would schedule a call for the technicians, and when they finished the first call, they would head around the corner to the depot to pick up their parts.

Things ran smoothly for years, and then GoodBoss decided he wanted to move on. He was grooming Buddy for the move up, and Buddy learned most of the managerial duties GoodBoss covered, in addition to his own duties, things like QuickBooks and scheduling, etc.

GoodBoss leaves, and Buddy takes over these responsibilities, again things run smoothly.

Until Owner tells Buddy that he’s getting a new supervisor. BadBoss. This guy came from a Sales background, had no experience in operations, and was basically there to help Owner bid on big jobs, but his title was Operations Director, and he was Buddy’s new boss.

Buddy was angry that he had been denied the chance to move up, which in a small operation, doesn’t happen often. Add to that the fact that BadBoss was a jerk, but not a dumb jerk, and quickly figured out that Buddy was a threat.

And so the lines were drawn. BadBoss had it in for Buddy, and Buddy wasn’t taking any of his crap.

One day BadBoss comes in at about 8:45 and sees Buddy shooting the crap in the coffee room with one of the Office Ladies, and lays into him.

“Why aren’t you at your desk? I don’t pay you to stand around talking. Get to work.”

Buddy starts to protest that he’s actually at the office 15 minutes before his shift, but BadBoss cuts him off, “I don’t listen to bullcrap excuses.

I want you at your desk at 8 am sharp, and I want you to send me an email every morning to prove it. Now get going.”

Buddy sends him an email, BCC to Owner, asking BadBoss to confirm that he wants Buddy working 8-4:30.

There was also a previous email saying “no overtime”. BadBoss sends a tersely worded confirmation.

Now Buddy comes in just before 8 am, sends an email right at 8, confirming he’s on duty, and BCC to Owner. But here’s the problem.

The Technicians send their reports in after 4 pm.

Buddy lets it be known on the down-low that the closer to 4:30, the better. So the parts requests come in at 4:25, and Buddy leaves at 4:30. He doesn’t get a chance to review them until 8 the next morning.

He sends the order pick to The Kid, who doesn’t have enough time to assemble the order before the courier comes at 9 am.

So what used to be next-day service ends up taking an extra day. If a Technician requests a part on his Monday report, he gets it Wednesday, not Tuesday, the way things worked before.

The customers start to revolt, loudly and energetically. These are industrial production machines, and when a “rocket” is delayed, it means a machine is down for an entire extra day. The customers are losing production and they are NOT happy.

Buddy gets called into a meeting on a Thursday with Owner and BadBoss demanding to know what the heck is happening.

BadBoss is in full form and says that Buddy’s job is super easy, and these delays are unacceptable.

Buddy explains exactly why the delays are occurring, it’s all because BadBoss changed his hours. Owner gives BadBoss the stink-eye after confirming that he ordered the schedule change.

“Okay, fine.” BadBoss concedes. “You go back to your old hours, starting Monday.”

“I won’t be here Monday,” replies Buddy.

“What are you talking about?”

“I am on holiday for 2 weeks. Didn’t you check the vacation schedule?”

BadBoss goes red in the face. “I never approved any holiday request from you.

You are NOT on holiday.”

“Yes, I am. The request was approved by GoodBoss before you were hired. Do you want to see the emails?”

“I don’t give a crap. Your holidays are canceled.”

“Sorry, but my brother is getting married, and I am in the wedding party.

I fly out to The Dominican on Saturday. I will be back in 2 weeks.”

“Who have you trained to take over your duties?” asks Owner.

“Well, back in the day GoodBoss would cover. I guess it’s up to BadBoss to cover while I am gone.”

BadBoss is stuck.

He can’t very well claim that Buddy’s job is super easy and then claim later in the same meeting that he can’t do it.

Oh, my Lord. What a crapshow.

The Technicians requested, say, a front sensor for a BoomStomper Model 31. BadBoss would ask them for a part number, and the Technician would reply, “I don’t know, Buddy knows all the part numbers.” Then he would go to The Kid and say he needs to send a sensor to the Technician, and The Kid would point to the racks, where all the parts were labeled by part numbers.

“I need a part number if you want to add it to an order”.

Buddy had an exhaustive Excel folder with all kinds of parts lists in it on his desktop. He also had a massive collection of manufacturers’ binders on shelves behind his desk.

The Excel folder was already named something obscure, BadBoss couldn’t find it, so BadBoss was forced to look parts up in the binders. No CTRL-F in Excel to find a part number for BadBoss.

Buddy had bookmarks on his Chrome browser for manufacturer’s and vendor’s websites.

He removed all the bookmarks so BadBoss, if he wanted to log into any of these sites, had to create his own login. Buddy’s were on LastPass, but BadBoss didn’t have the LastPass password.

Buddy was also adept with computers, so he had been given the access to the phone system portal.

He set it up so that any calls to his desk phone or work cell would get “I am on vacation, in my absence, please contact BadBoss at Extension 123.” And then the call would forward to BadBoss’s desk phone, and if unanswered, to his work cell.

After-hours emergency calls went directly to BadBoss’s work cell, and if unanswered, to his HOME phone.

Buddy set up his Outlook with an autoreply that said to contact BadBoss, and copied Owner in.

Then Buddy shut off his work phone and took two weeks off.

BadBoss found out in a hurry that Buddy’s job wasn’t so super-easy after all. He was getting calls from irate clients, Technicians with the wrong parts, and calls in the evening that he had no way to handle. Remember that they repaired industrial machinery, and some facilities were 24 hours.

When Buddy got back BadBoss was waiting for him by the door and went ballistic. It was a screaming match that drew everyone, even Owner, who literally had to step between them.

Finally, Buddy just screamed, “Screw this crap. I can’t work with this guy.” He turned to Owner and said, “You saw how this place ran when I was doing HIS job, and now you see what it’s like when he’s doing mine.

I am going back home, right now, before I do something I regret. So you have a choice to make. I’ll come in tomorrow and clean out my desk if this jerk hasn’t cleaned out his first.”

When he arrived on Tuesday, all the staff was grinning and BadBoss’s office was empty.

The owner called him into his office and told him that BadBoss was gone and Buddy could get back to work.

“Nope,” said Buddy. “His office is empty, and I want it. I want his job, I want his pay, I want his perks.

I have been here for years and you know what I can do. Put me in charge.”

And that’s how Buddy got his promotion. Since then the company has grown, and Buddy has grown right with it. There are now branches in 3 cities, a huge staff, and Buddy is in charge of it all.

And he still reminds me when my favorite band is coming to town.”

10. Steal From Us More Than Once? You'll Immediately Lose Your Job

“I used to work for this company about 3 years ago that was subcontracted out to a huge huge manufacturing company; what we did was basically cook an enormous variety of meals for the employees there. We were a small company though so I only ever worked with one other person during the shift catering to the workers.

To give you an idea of the area (for story purposes) one side was basically a buffet line that I would dish their food on, the other side was a grill area for requests, in the middle was the register, and across from that was a huge array of drinks.

Adjoined to the ‘cafeteria’ area is the eating area as well as an outside area.

After working there for a good while, I began to recognize all of the faces and people. (I worked 2nd shift so a lot fewer people would come in.) One day while working, I see this guy, let’s call him “John.” I notice he grabs his food I prepared and walks over to get a drink and then walks away.

He didn’t pay for his food. I waited a bit, as sometimes, more trusting employees will come back after eating to pay or they forget and pay us the next day (we were lenient with nice people). But he didn’t.

The next day he comes back and I politely tell him he forgot to pay yesterday.

He kinda fake laughs and says he wasn’t paying attention and pays for yesterday’s and today’s food. However, after paying for his food, I see him sit down then come back and grab an energy drink and leave. He didn’t pay for it.

Now I’m kinda like, what. I wait again, but I have other people to serve so I brush it off because I didn’t know his name at the time to report it.

Two weeks pass (The main company employees work in rotating shifts) and I see him again.

I don’t mention the stolen drink and he orders from the grill. The other person I worked with was this middle-aged lady with leukemia. (we’ll just call her “Lady”) She makes him his food and I watch as he takes the food and leaves.

I’m flabbergasted at this point, I mention to my coworker what just happened and she says she had seen him steal food/drinks on other shifts as well.

We proceed to tell our boss this the next day and he tells us to deny him any food or services until he pays up.

So, cue later that evening. She and I are working and he goes up to the grill to order. She politely tells him that our boss has denied him services since he’s been stealing and needs to pay first. -at this point, I should add that calling the police couldn’t be justified since we had no security cameras in this area sadly- Now, this infuriates “John.” He proceeded to start yelling at her saying she doesn’t know what she was talking about and to cook his food.

She responds by saying she isn’t allowed and to just pay. John states he isn’t paying for anything since he didn’t take anything to which a coworker responds that she watched him steal just yesterday. He gives her the bird and storms off out of the cafeteria.

For a while, we think that was the last of him, thankfully. I hated watching someone steal and be helpless to stop (I was only a 21-year-old girl at the time and very passive). However, it wasn’t.

About 3 weeks later I see him lurking in the back and he had been getting someone else to buy food for him (watched as he passed money to someone else and they came up for food and passed it back to him).

And then another 2 weeks after that, he came in and ordered food again. Lady and I look at each and just decide to, ya know, screw it, didn’t feel like bringing that crap up again as long as he didn’t steal again.

He didn’t, for 2 whole days.

Okay so, by this time, things are just getting ridiculous. Other coworkers from other shifts have reported this guy stealing as well but our boss is too much of a witch to really do anything.

Here comes the head.

About a month after or so (can’t remember specifically, and John has been stealing at least once a week either food or drinks or both) I’m working with a different coworker at the moment and I see John walk in. My heart is literally racing because I decide that if he steals something, I’m going to do something about it.

I watched as he goes, grabs a drink, and takes it to the eating area (He thought since a multitude of people were getting food, I wouldn’t notice). He comes back up, and gets his food to pay. I ring him up for not only his food but a drink as well.

He gets this disgusted look on his face and asks why the price is so high. I tell John that it’s because I’m ringing him up for the food and the drink he took earlier. At this point, my heart is literally beating out of my chest (I’ve never confronted someone before).

The following “conversation” then unfolded:

John: I didn’t take no darn drink!

Me: Sir I saw you take it and place it back there.

John: Well you’re mistaken so take it off of the price.

Me: NO. I saw you take it, and everyone has seen you steal from us the past couple of months, and you’re always stealing from us.

(at this point my voice is wavering)

-at this point, John is yelling almost at the top of his lungs. Literally, everyone in the cafeteria has stopped and is staring at us-

John: YOU’RE A FREAKING WITCH. I DIDN’T TAKE ANYTHING. NOW YOU BETTER TAKE THE PRICE OFF.

Me: (looking to my male coworker) YOU saw him stealing when I did, say something!

Coworker: uhhm, uh well, I mean, man, can’t you just pay for the drink if you took it?

John starts pointing at me and crap: I’M NOT FREAKING—

He then just goes on to spiel a whole mess of curse words at me.

At this point, I’m literally crying in front of what has to be about 50 people at the time and I sob to my coworker to just handle this for me as I go to the back. I can hear John cussing at him too, and apparently, he stormed off WITH his unpaid food!

I come back out as I still have a job to do and one of the employees who is always friendly to me is standing there and says “I saw the whole thing and I’ve also seen him steal and that is no way to talk to someone doing their job.

I know his boss and will point him out when he comes in.” So the guy’s boss comes in about 20 minutes later and both me, my coworker, and the employee tell him everything that has happened. He is stunned and consoles me and tells me that he’s going to fix everything.

Not even an hour later I get word that John was immediately fired following a meeting about his behavior and had to be escorted out by security guards because he was violently cursing and making threats including one about me. I was suggested to have someone walk me to my car for the next week as apparently he had been driving around the parking lots looking for me (there’s security to get onsite and you need a pass).

People were saying how he had 3 kids so he was especially angry. It was wonderful after that as I never had to worry about him again. I’m pretty sure he thought he could get away with it because it was mostly women in our subcontracted company (a whole like 10 of us) and figured we’d be too occupied with other hungry employees to notice him stealing right under us.

I should add that the huge company that fired him – it’s almost impossible to get a job there without knowing someone because it pays unbelievably well with mega benefits and all that, so losing that job is a big deal. Yadda yadda.”

9. Degrade Your Own Student? Let's Take This To The District

Time to drain the swamp.

“I was a senior in high school at the time and I had never been the brightest student. I was a solid C student and I had never received a detention or had any kind of bad student record.

This is important because, to this day, I still have no idea why the teacher treated me this way. The teacher, who we will name Mrs. Frank, had been a teacher there for more than a decade and was widely known for being a petty heartless witch who the administrators saw as the golden child.

Mrs. Frank taught algebra, which is my worst subject, so naturally, I had issues understanding the lessons and would ask questions frequently. To some these questions are easily answered, but to me, it was rocket science.

Usually, when someone asks a dumb question, no one should address it however in Mrs.

Frank’s case, she would belittle me in front of everyone by saying things such as “And here comes the slow boy again,” “wow surprise, surprise; you don’t understand it again,” “Really? We have to go extra slow for you today, don’t we,” etc…etc.

I tried going to the administration about it before but again she was considered the golden child. They would send someone in to examine her during class, she would act respectful and normal for one day, and go back to being a witch the next.

This goes on for about half the year until I had enough. I went to the local radioshack, bought a recorder, and secretly recorded every insult she would throw at me. I would sometimes instigate to make up for the lost time.

Go ahead, feed the fire.

Fast forward to the end of the year and I’m sitting in Mrs. Frank’s class when I ask a question. Her response and I quote (because it’s burned into my brain) was-

“I’ve been teaching here for over 10 years and that was the single dumbest question I’ve ever heard come from anyone’s mouth.”

She continued the lesson without answering.

I calmly stood up, packed up my stuff, and headed to the nurse’s office to dismiss myself from school. (We were allowed to dismiss ourselves if we were 18.)

I went home, compiled all of the brutal tapes into one glorious masterpiece, and headed back the next day to show the administrators.

I sat down with the principal and we listened to a couple of the insults before he stopped me. He wanted more witnesses present as well as Mrs. Frank. He told me we would meet the next day where I could show him and the rest of the administrators the full tape.

I walk into school the next morning being the most nervous I’ve ever been for anything. I was called down to the office where I met with some board directors, the local school police officer, the principal, the vice principal, and Mrs.

Frank.

What follows was some of the greatest minutes of my life.

I watched as the administrators went from fed up with being in another useless meeting, to furious and speechless with some of them keeping their mouths open for the duration of the tape.

I also watched Mrs. Frank go from being confident and stuck up, to her realizing that she had screwed up beyond repair.

She was publicly roasting herself in front of the most important people from the district.

The tape ended and without hesitation, the administrators looked around in astonishment, and the principal turns to me and says “I think we have heard everything we need to, thank you.” And I was quietly dismissed from the room.

The final time I saw Mrs. Frank was leaving the room. I looked back and we made eye contact through her tear-filled eyes as I gave the biggest evilest smile.

I returned to class the next week and Mrs. Frank was nowhere to be found.

The story spread quickly throughout the school and I was seen as a saint. I had successfully gotten her fired and made it almost impossible for Mrs. Frank to return to her teaching career as well as cut off most of her connections she had with other teachers in the school.

I had ruined her financially because no school district in the area would hire this walking piece of garbage.

If you’re reading this Mrs. Frank, I’d like to take this moment to tell you to go screw yourself.”

Nobody should treat people that way, especially a teacher. 99% of the teachers I meet are wonderful people with good morals and values. There’s that 1% though that I’ve met many of. They have no business being in the field. She got what she deserved.” Glace_Bay

8. Working Overtime But Not Getting Paid? Time To Rock The Boat

Pexels

“I had a job working warehouse/delivery for a store. The entire “corporate structure” was built on treating the people below you like crap, and that was passed down through every level. Managers would just bark orders and crap on you for any reason they could think of.

They paid about 25¢ over minimum wage, and the bosses drove BMWs and Mercedes. The Big Boss lived in an $8M house.

Our store was the freight hub for four others in the little chain, so we got to know the drivers from the other stores well as they were always coming to load freight or drop stuff off.

One day, we’re sitting with two drivers from another store, and “Buddy” remarks that he and his partner are working over 60 hours a week. I say he must be doing okay with all that overtime pay. He says they’re not getting OT, just paid a straight-time rate.

I ask him if he signed an averaging agreement, he says no. He shows me his pay stub, and there it is. His partner comes back and confirms all this, and they’ve been doing it for months. He’d asked his manager about OT, and been told that straight pay was just the way it worked.

I tell them that’s illegal, and urge them to take it to labor relations. They’re reluctant to rock the boat, figuring they’ll be fired. So I drop it. (We never got any overtime. Our warehouse was busy, our store was not.) A couple of months later, they’re in again, and Buddy’s partner tells us he and his girl are moving back east, and he’s giving his notice.

I tell him again to file a complaint; nothing to lose now. So he does.

A few weeks go by, and when I come in one day, there are expensive boss cars parked all along the loading dock. My workmate says something big is going down.

All the managers have been summoned, and are inside with a bunch of people in suits. So we wander upstairs to see what’s going on. The company bookkeeper had an office in our store, and handled all the payroll. He was a Chinese immigrant, nice guy.

The bosses were trying to pin this on him, saying he didn’t speak English very well (which was true) and had obviously screwed everything up. Turns out he was a pretty cagey guy. He knew what they’d told him to do was illegal, and was able to produce all the records of him telling them that, and of them telling him to basically just shut up and do it.

He hands it all over and quits.

I see Buddy (with a new partner) a few weeks later. He’s got a pay stub for about fifteen paychecks’ worth of earnings. Company got caught for all the overtime pay and a pretty substantial fine on top of that.

Added bonus: the second-in-command had driven over a nail when he parked his silver BMW on the loading dock and had a flat when he came out of the store. He opened his trunk and called me over and said, “Change that for me.” I told him sorry, that’s not my job and if I hurt myself, my compensation claim would be denied.

As he went in to call a tow truck, I stood on the loading dock and gazed upon all the havoc I had wrought, and my heart was glad.”

7. Won't Stop Having Obnoxious Parties? Enjoy Seeing Yourself On National News

“In September of 2020, the apartment next to mine was let out to two young women, both students. After they settled in a bit, it turned out they wanted to have a party. No big deal, except in Belgium at this time, you were supposed to only have one fixed visitor over.

But then again, to be young again, etc., so I didn’t really care.

During this time, I was working in healthcare. I work with the mentally disabled, but I volunteered for the ad hoc medical team, meaning I got called upon to tend to those residents who were sick and needed to separate or were effectively diagnosed with the famous 2020 illness.

This meant pretty long working hours and I spend about 10 to 11 hours a day at work, with a full-hour bike ride to and from work. Needless to say, I was pretty tired pretty much all the time. So I wasn’t looking forward to the noise from a party, but I’m pretty chill and know that living in the city, some noise is to be expected.

So they are having their party, and I can stand some noise and music. But this party was freaking wild. People shouting full-on, in the hallway. Wrecking things etc., etc. At about four in the morning, I introduced myself to the neighbors and asked them when they could expect their company (+20 people) to leave.

And if they could refrain from having a party the next day, as I have to work and get up at 6 every day. So they promised they would keep it down the rest of the night (they didn’t) and that they wouldn’t have a party the next day.

Plot twist: they did have another party. And then had another one the day after.

At this point, I had been going a full three nights without sleep and was nearing neurosis. Every night I had talked to the girls and every night they would be full of apologies and stuff, but nothing would change.

I also felt terrible when I had to enter their place because it would be absolutely packed with people and I work with some very vulnerable people at work who I wouldn’t want to spread sickness. Luckily the weekend came and they went to their parents and I could recover a bit.

Suffice it to say, I wasn’t really liking my new neighbors.

During the next few weeks, they refrained from big parties, but they would have a constant flood of people coming over during the night. And by constant, I mean constant. Like their bell would ring 70 times a night and people would always be coming or going.

And those people would be intoxicated and loud. Our communal hallway is pretty much an echo chamber because it’s all stone and any noise will travel throughout the building. Basically, I couldn’t sleep at night. It drove me crazy. I could only sleep Friday through Sunday because then they would go off to their parents or whatever.

I couldn’t grasp how they could know this many people that would always be coming and going.

During one night, while knocking on their door to complain about the noise, I encountered my upstairs neighbor and decided that we would have to join forces to get this to stop.

My neighbor told me some important bit of information: the reason there were people coming and going all the time was because they used their apartment as a makeshift bar/hangout. During this time, bars were closed, and all those students were using the big apartment to hang out.

Moreover, across the street was another ‘frathouse’ with 5 boys living there, and that too was a secret hang-out. So people would hang out at those two places and cross the street if they wanted a different atmosphere or wanted to see their other friends etc etc.

And the boys from across the street would also come over 15 times a night. Most visitors seemed to be law students or affiliated with them. Basically, our communal hallway was just a part of their café space now.

So we tried talking to the girls.

Then we started to talk to the visitors. None of them had any sympathy for us when we were asking them to be quiet at 4 in the morning. Most of them just laughed at us, as we were ‘the pesky neighbors’ no doubt.

Even more of them were just so wasted that they didn’t know what they were doing. So we started calling the police, dozens of times. Most of the time, they weren’t let in and the police told us they couldn’t do anything.

We kept calling as we wanted a record of our calls in the system. In Belgium at this time, what they were doing was full-on illegal. Even so, police told us their hands were tied if they wouldn’t open the door.

When the police couldn’t help, I turned to the next best thing: I’m a social worker and so I have no problems looking up information and calling around to look for help. This is what I did. Most places (student unions, police, town hall) were understanding but couldn’t really do much.

So I acted on the suggestion of the upstairs neighbor and contacted one of the girls’ dean. I shot him a nice email about sorry to have bothered him and taking up his time, but I had this big group of students from his faculty ganging up every night and maybe he wanted to know about it since they were breaking every possible rule that existed at that time? Especially since my neighbor and I were about to go to the papers with this story (as secret parties were becoming a thing in the papers at this point).

This dean called me back right away and we had a nice talk about our problems. He told me he was on it.

So basically what he did was call the law student girl, and her parents. Big drama ensued and we finally got to sit down with the girls and they finally sounded like they were sorry.

Tears were shed (for which I had no patience tbh). We learned that the police had actually been inside a few times and they were issued tickets for having secret parties. Those were 300 bucks each a pop, so no idea why they didn’t just stop.

We learned they were not happy because the dean had called them up at 11 o clock and they were still asleep. To which I said: well there is your problem. You are still asleep at 11 o clock. I’m up at six every day and you girls haven’t been a bit understanding about that.

So we got to feel a bit like we got our revenge and we got to vent, but we kept it kinda nice and parted on good terms, hoping that this would be it and we could live together as nice neighbors.

But if that were the case, I wouldn’t be here, right?

You’d think they would have gotten the point now and would refrain from making noise and partying. Well, you’d be wrong. Basically what they did was they moved to the frathouse across the street and started partying there.

There were slightly fewer people running to and fro, but the noise was still a problem, and we were now in the middle of the second wave and these people were meeting up with big groups like crazy, while I hadn’t seen a soul in almost a year.

Never mind the people at my work, who were forbidden from even going to their own friggin’ family. The whole thing was just ridiculous.

My upstairs neighbor happened to film such a party across the street and had sent the clip to me.

We were thinking about going to the press with our story but weren’t really sure if it would be a good idea. So I posted the clip of the party on the subreddit of our country to test the waters. It got quite some comments and upvotes and it seemed most people were also sick of people disregarding the rules and having secret parties.

After some talks with the upstairs neighbor, we decided to contact the press and simultaneously go up a step in the university hierarchy and contact the vice-rector that had the power to start up a disciplinary case against the students. (This person is one of 12 vice-rectors for a total campus of about 15.000 students, so quite high up).

Things moved fast. Local news actually picked up our story and contacted me and we gave some background info. They confirmed with the police that cops had been dozens of times to our address and across the street and weren’t let in most of the time.

We mentioned that the university was involved and that we hoped they would finally intervene. The next day, the piece was on their website. It went ‘viral’ there and got promoted to the sites of most national newspapers. Its headline was sensational enough, mentioning the dozens of times police had showed up and also mentioning how healthcare workers were being kept up by selfish students.

At the same time, the vice-rector contacted us to take our statements (which we already had prepared for on paper) and informed us they would investigate and could possibly start up disciplinary actions. At the same time, more reporters were contacting me throughout the day and we made sure to mention that to her and link the university to the printed articles.

The next day, while at work, I got a message from the upstairs neighbor that a film crew from the national news was at our doorstep. He declined to talk to them (and I would have done the same since this was getting pretty big now) but they made a segment anyway.

And sure enough, that night at 7, here was my street and a short section about cops standing in front of a closed door a dozen times and the local press cop talking about the troubles of closed doors. The best part about it was that a student from the offending frat house across the street had let the film crew in, and said on camera exactly what we were accusing them of towards the university: that they had been having parties and didn’t let the cops in and that they had done it multiple times.

No idea what made him think that was a good idea.

Anyway, trying not to make a huge story even longer: the press died down sometime later (thank god) and the disciplinary action from the uni went through. Before the hearing, we sat down with the girls from our block and cleared some things up.

We wanted to live like normal people together and we tried to make some amends. Because we put in a (kinda) good word for them, they got the lighter end of the stick: 40 hours of community service and some probation.

The guys across the street got 80 hours each, and each had to write us a letter of apology, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading every time I got one.

The sad part is, most of them sounded just like dumb young kids, but that was after getting called out on the news and being part of disciplinary action.

But we never wanted to escalate things this far. Some noise is to be expected when living in the same building and we were never going to go to these extremes for some expected noises. But these people went to extremes and so we were forced to do the same.

Rest of the year, a simple message on WhatsApp was enough to silence any noises we had coming from their apartment.

If anything, I hope they learned that even very polite and chilled people can become very upset when presented with sleep deprivation and excessive noise.”

6. Go Behind Our Backs? You Won't Be Earning Your Attendance Award Now

“I am a university student and I am staying in accommodation near the university I am studying at. I get along with the majority of my flatmates, there are a couple of us that don’t see eye to eye but it’s nothing serious.

This revenge involves me and a friend (let’s call him Joe ) getting revenge on our flatmate who was a massive pain in the backside.

Joe and I live in the same building together, the building is a 3-story flat with me being on the first floor and Joe being on the second floor.

Joe and I arrived at the accommodation at roughly the same time so we got to know each other very well. The first week of staying at the accommodation went very well we all introduced ourselves to each other and asked questions so we’d get to know each other better.

Then the start of the second week starts and in walks the little crap (let’s call him Jeff ). Jeff didn’t introduce himself to anyone or talk to anyone when he arrived, nobody was bothered too much by this and nothing happened for the rest of the day.

Then the evening started, Jeff was one of those guys who would online game but instead of staying quiet and keeping calm he would start hurling insults at people shouting at them, telling them that they’re bad when he wasn’t very good at the game himself.

We put up with it for about a week, but after that, we started going up to his room and told him that he needed to stop because he was causing a disturbance and we wanted to have peace and quiet.

He responded by telling us to go away, and that he could do what he wanted.

The way the rules work for our accommodation is that you can contact the wardens if someone is being a disturbance or doing something they shouldn’t be and depending on how severe their actions were would determine what would happen to them.

Usually, you start by getting a warning but if it is more severe than that you would end up getting a strike. Get 3 strikes and you get evicted. We all agreed to contact the wardens because Jeff was taking no notice of us.

The wardens came and issued him a warning informing him that if it happened again he would get a strike. We thought he would stop after that and it would be the end. Oh, how wrong we all were. Instead of apologizing, he decided to start being even more of a pain by being even louder and start threatening people.

The main victim of his threats was Joe.

Joe decided he was fed up and started firing back by doing Karaoke in his room to drown out the noise that Jeff was making, while this helped it just made even more noise, therefore, making it more difficult for the rest of us to relax.

Joe agreed he would only do Karaoke during the day so that we could get some sleep at night, so we wouldn’t miss our lessons. Jeff on the other hand wouldn’t stop. Eventually, I contacted the wardens because he was making it too difficult to sleep due to the constant noise he would make, although I hadn’t missed any lessons more than half of us in the accommodation did due to oversleeping.

2 days after I contacted the wardens he received his first strike. When he found out I was the one who contacted the wardens he started making my life a pain. He lived in the room directly above me so he would constantly jump and stomp on the ground to make even more noise.

It was no surprise that he had been given a second strike shortly after. After that, it was the winter holidays so we all went back to our family for Christmas (the time away from Jeff was exactly what I needed and it helped majorly).

When we got back we found out that he had smashed up his laptop (which he used to game on) during the holidays when we had settled back into the accommodation. This meant he couldn’t online game anymore or do any work at home for his course.

This we thought would finally be the end of all the noise. Nope, it got worse, he started to steal things from his flatmates on the same floor as him. We all knew it was him but the wardens couldn’t prove it so he didn’t receive a third strike.

Eventually, he managed to save up enough to buy a replacement laptop which angered all of us. It turned out he’d been stealing valuables from Joe as well as his other flatmates then started selling them so he could buy himself a new laptop.

We were all livid and decided we needed to do something about him.

Joe and I started plotting how we could get our revenge, we knew we couldn’t get the laptop off him because he would lock it up safely in his room, but then we remembered that he only took his student card with him when he had a lesson at the university.

In order to get into classrooms at our university you need to use your card to scan yourself in, this would mark you as being present for the lesson as well. We knew he valued his attendance very greatly because the student with the highest attendance would receive a reward.

Joe decided he would get Jeff’s student card and hide it somewhere so he wouldn’t find it. We only intended for him to lose the reward that he was going to get for the highest attendance.

After about 3 weeks Joe managed to successfully get his student card.

Jeff was furious, he started going to anyone he could in the accommodation to find his card and started threatening them. We all knew Joe had it but nobody would tell him because we all wanted him to pay for the nuisance he had been.

This was the third time he had to replace his card so it would cost him £20 which doesn’t sound like much but when you’re a broke university student, everything is expensive. Not to mention he kept all his money on his student card therefore he was screwed.

Joe had the intention to give him back his card after he paid for the items he stole from everyone but before he could negotiate a deal, Jeff got the idea that I was the one who took his card. After all, I was the one who had called the warden who had given him 2 strikes.

He waited till when he thought I had gone to university for the day not realizing my lessons for the day had been canceled and he tried to break the door down preventing him from entering our floor of the accommodation.

I heard him doing it so I went straight to the door and recorded him. Immediately after I contacted the warden and he got evicted!

To this day Joe still has his card and will not give it back. Jeff is now living in different accommodation which is more expensive and not licensed by the uni.

His attendance has fallen under 70% meaning he has no chance of winning the reward for the highest attendance.”

Another User Comments:

“Attendance awards are lame, but as this guy seems to place a significant amount of value in it, this was about as perfect a revenge as you could have planned.

It’s such a small thing in the grand scheme of things but this guy sounds like a world-class jerk, so if he’s gonna be all riled up over attendance of all things… excellent! You can remain confident that you didn’t overdo things – rather, he made everything so much worse entirely of his own doing. Well done!” pr0digalnun

5. Treat Me Like Crap While Favoring Female Employees? I'll Erase Everything That Makes This Company Successful

“So I was working at a company as the marketing director (I won’t say the industry because the details could connect me to this story). I worked at this company for almost 2 years. When I started, this company desperately needed help getting business.

So I was hired because not only did I know marketing and have a good track record, but I also had a thorough understanding of the company’s industry like I knew just as much about the industry as the boss did.

So I get to work and do what everyone in the company viewed as magic. Drop all the nonsense marketing tricks that died 10 years ago. I did digital ads, print ads, graphic design, improved social media presence, video production in-house, commercials, and billboards, partnered with the right vendors, improved their reputation, the list just goes on.

Whatever they wanted to be done, I could do and do it for a lot less very quickly. It took a little time and some major pitches to the boss to get what I needed, but all of this resulted in increasing sales by 65%, which they make about $4,500 profit per sale to add while saving the company about $90,000 in advertising costs, and driving up revenue by say a cool half a million per year maybe more.

Now I was on a salary and would get a hefty bonus when we sold a set number of units. At first, I was fine with it, I liked a challenge, I knew what I needed to get to that number.

But I was stuck making that base salary and I didn’t have the resources I needed to make that bonus, which I really needed. Then somehow I got switched to hourly instead of salary when eventually I had to put in an extra 10-15 hours a week just to make a full week’s pay.

I ended up having some financial issues, lost my car, had to move back in with my parents, and got into some debt. So I ended up starting an internet business (thanks to an amazing friend) to make some passive income that gave me an extra $2000 a month to start.

That was somewhat close to my take-home pay at my day job, so couldn’t complain about the two incomes. So finally when I got those extra tools I needed to do my job, I made those bonuses 2 months in a row.

That’s when I was happy and slowly started getting my finances back together.

Now the boss and I were OK, kind of disconnected, he has a thing with girls. We ended up needing to hire more people because of all the extra business.

One of which was a girl (named Marla) who I got along with (we’re still friends honestly) but just a pain in the butt at best. She was pretty and the boss REALLY liked her. Kisses on her cheek every day, getting away with what people would normally get fired for, giving her gifts, the like.

Then she wanted to make more money. So what does the boss do for his princess? Gives her a $400 raise per week and puts her on the same pay schedule as me. But what else did the boss do, he kept my “salary” the same and he raised the set number of sold units in order for me to get a bonus to a pretty unrealistic number.

Now I know this girl’s position and in this industry that’s WAYYY too much to pay someone in her position unless they’re like a manager, manage 10+ reps. She wasn’t, she was a rep and had no experience in this industry.

It was ridiculous how she would get all the praise from him, just offering her everything in the world. Then I found out another girl (named Witch) who literally depends on me for about 50% of her job responsibilities and treats me like crap, makes about $200 more per week than I do, and got a few raises.

Boss always praises her for her work that usually is done by me.

I had a setback with my business and ended up not making those extra funds for a few months. I was hurting badly from it, so I really depended on this job at that point.

But with still no way to make that bonus with really inconsistent paychecks, I was getting mad. Crap hit the fan a few times because of drama from employees, and that’s when the boss would say I was doing a good job, but no raise or anything I could actually benefit from.

So here I was working for this crap company where the arrogant boss just praises these girls for their work when literally I’m the one that’s actually making the business thrive. The boss even made me work a late night, on a night I REALLY could not work, ALL because this Marla wanted to keep her part-time job at a sushi restaurant.

At the income she was making nobody in their right mind would still be working at a restaurant.

You would think with those accomplishments I would get me some sort of raise or something where I would benefit from this type of performance.

Nope, I just get like a little pat on the back, worse pay than I started with very little commendation. All while these girls’ success was literally at my fingertips.

Then it hit me… Their success was at MY fingertips.

Thankfully in due time, I finally got back up with my business, learned from the mistakes, and came out making a very healthy income outside of this crap show job I had.

I bought myself a nice luxury car as a reward for myself (used RS7 for the car heads on here), which nobody at work ever saw because of a dirty lot in the back for employees. So finally sort of out of nowhere, I had enough.

I was tired of being treated like crap after all the work I did for this place and watching these girls live more comfortably than I did.

At this point, I didn’t need the pay; my business could be my career. So I started planning my devastating exit strategy.

First, I bought myself a plane ticket to NYC to spend some time with the family and so I would commit to not staying. Thinking about what this job has put me through, what I’ve lost, and how much I’ve burdened my family all by taking advantage of me, I was pretty hurt by being treated the way I was.

So I made sure what they had was GONE.

Google Adwords Account – Closed, those great campaigns are all gone and can never be replicated.

Social media ads – Shut off and company credit card removed. It was under my personal social media account so the campaign settings always stayed with me.

Vendor Partnership Accounts – Closed

3rd Party Classifieds Accounts – Closed

Weekly Email Blasts – Gone, email marketing account closed, never accessible again.

Graphic Designs – Gone, wiped my work computer.

Videos & Commercials I made – Gone, part of wiping my computer.

Architectural video display system that I designed and installed that would’ve cost the company $10,000 to install (something the boss was obsessed with) – Shut off, settings wiped.

Sounds bad, but realistically I had to because I had a lot of those accounts under my name and I would never be able to train someone on how to manage any of that stuff, I had a pretty advanced skill set.

But still…

So I set up my revenge and I walked in the following day with my casual clothes on. Marla was curious why, told her not to worry about it. He walks in, gives the girls their daily kisses, and looks at me with this “What the heck” look then I broke the news I was leaving.

He asks Why and I tell him how I felt undervalued and it wasn’t right how I accomplished all of this for almost 2 years with no raise. He asked me to show Marla everything so she could do it. I had to explain the value of my time and how the lack of pay would make this resignation immediate.

2 Week notice? NOPE.

The following night, I made sure to have a little sushi dinner before I took my trip. Marla was my server, Witch was also there, how joyous that was! Told Marla I was sorry for not telling her (she was a friend and upset), Witch was being fake nice about everything.

They were set on trying their own strategy, I encouraged it knowing they would mess up. So I left but made sure they both saw my car.

I left and 3 days later, my phone was blowing up with Marla and Witch asking me how to do stuff where I would explain to them that I had to close that account so it would not be tied to me.

Boss tried calling me and asked me to come back with a significant raise, I respectfully declined.

Then I quickly found out the following month that sales dropped significantly and those girls were in hot water with the boss.

And yesterday my friend who knows what’s going on in the industry, shot me a text saying “Start looking for a new job, XXXX competitor is buying you guys out.”

I replied: “LOL, I quit 4 months ago.””

4. Think You Can Get Away With Not Paying Your Rent? Your Career Will Be In Shambles Soon

“I’ve lived in the Los Feliz area for ten years now. I came to LA from Oregon to attend college. I never did finish college but I did meet my husband here. I’m 34 now.

My husband “Jim” (41) and I run a small craft store.

We also play music in a band. Jim is also an architect part-time.

Neither the store nor the band earns a lot of profit, but it’s enough. We mostly depend on Jim’s architect job. Still, we could use more income so we decide to take on a tenant in our house.

We bought a two-bedroom bungalow where one of the bedrooms actually has its own private entrance.

My husband made alterations to make it its own small apartment since it already had a private bathroom. It didn’t initially have a shower but my husband built one for it.

There was no proper kitchen but my husband fashioned a little nook where he installed a mini fridge, hot plate, and microwave.

Over the past four years, we had a couple of really nice tenants, usually college students who stayed for their year-long lease and then moved on.

Everyone paid their rent on time and didn’t ruin the room.

“Kevin” was a different matter.

Kevin was this thirty-year-old bartender who worked at a local club. He seemed clean-cut and like he wouldn’t cause any trouble, and since he was older than the college students we had before, we assumed he would be even more responsible.

We couldn’t have been more wrong.

After about four months that passed without incident, suddenly Kevin began to be a terrible tenant. He’d play music really loud late at night and make our neighbors call the police (we live in a quiet neighborhood).

He’d bring home women, which is his right because it’s his home and he’s paying, but they’d talk SUPER loudly late into the night and drink out on the porch, and once again cause neighbors to call the police because they just wouldn’t shut up.

I talked to Kevin about it, and he laughed in my face.

He kind of had a different attitude toward my husband when my husband confronted him about it because Jim would break this guy’s jaw. But even though Kevin apologized, a few days later he’d go right back to doing it.

He also got into the habit of smoking on the porch and would smoke so much that the neighbors would once again complain.

He would pay his rent, but instead of paying it on the first of the month as one might expect, he was often late by several days or would ask favors from us that we would take half the rent on the first, the other half on the fifteenth, to coincide with his paydays.

He would often pretend to have paid and claim that he left the check under our door when that was clearly a lie.

We accommodated him and tried to be patient.

He was only on a six-month lease so after those six months, my husband told him he had to leave.

Kevin complained that we were being racist against him. Kind of weird seeing as how we are all White in this story, but Kevin fancies himself to be Black for whatever reason and talks with a ridiculous, almost cartoonish attempt to sound like a 1970s Blaxploitation movie.

On some days he’d try to talk like he was Shaft and on other days he’d talk with some failed Tupac impression.

Anyway…

So he said he’d move out, but that we had to give him time. That’s fair enough. We gave him all the legal papers that said he had to vacate within a certain number of days.

At the end of that time, he still wasn’t gone and he didn’t look like he had plans to leave. He would rant about squatters’ rights and all that. This whole time, he would continue to play loud music, smoke outside, bring home his women and talk loudly late into the night, and make a nuisance of himself.

Finally, after six months had passed and he had been staying half a year without paying us a cent, he moved out.

My husband and I learned our lesson. He knocked down the wall he built and now we live in a two-bedroom small house again, to ourselves.

But Kevin didn’t leave in good order.

He snuck out because he knew he owed us several months of rent. He left no forwarding address. He stopped answering texts.

What he did leave was a huge mess.

He also stole a nice Keurig coffee machine that we put in his apartment for his use, and he also stole the mini fridge and microwave.

He left the hotplate but he pretty much destroyed that too because it looked like he tried cooking substances on it.

It looked like he picked up most of his personal stuff, but his clumsy, sloppy self didn’t check behind all of his little nooks and crannies, and we saw he had abandoned lots of his little substance stuff.

We boxed up all of these little items in a single box and labeled it with his name in case he ever wanted to claim them.

My husband also went to the local courthouse to see about filing small claims on Kevin, but we didn’t even know where he lived now.

My husband isn’t a narc type who snitches, bless his heart. He was of the opinion, oh, this is a learning experience, let’s do it differently from now on.

But I’m not that way, and I don’t want us to get ripped off without a bit of revenge.

Kevin never really told us exactly which bar he works at, because he’s a lying little weasel, but in his loud conversations late at night while he’s off talking like he’s Charles Friggin’ Barkley I overheard him name the bar he worked at.

So one day about five days after Kevin left, I drove over there and ask about him to the people who work there. I don’t let on that I’m one of his former landlords. The new bartender girl assumes that I’m some sort of jilted lover, and I roll with it.

She empathizes with me, and in talking about what a jerk Kevin is, she lets me know that the whole time he’s been in the LA area, he’s been going to school to become a licensed vocational nurse.

I tell her that he blocked me on social media.

No problem, she tells me! She whips out her phone and shows me his profile, which is set to private, but she is friends with him on social media.

I see that he moved to Nevada and is now practicing as an LVN at a clinic.

I thank the girl and go home.

Now that I know where he works, I call the clinic and casually confirm that Kevin indeed works there.

My guess is that Kevin probably had to take a substance test to get his job, but he still had friends over at his place doing lots of illegal stuff.

Or maybe he borrowed someone else’s urine, who knows.

I find out the name of his supervisor, and once again calling the clinic, pretending to be a customer, I casually confirm that this man is Kevin’s boss.

I then take the box of Kevin’s stuff with all of his substance paraphernalia in it to the local police station, with the explanation that Kevin used to be a tenant of mine and my husband’s, but that he abandoned his quarters and also this box of his personal effects.

I look like a friggin’ Kindergarten teacher, and to the cop, it’s obvious I have no idea what any of this crap is.

I tell the police I have no idea of Kevin’s forwarding address, just his address of employment, and oh! I even have the number of his boss.

“I don’t know how these things work, officer. Could you handle it?”

“Of course, miss. That’s our job.”

So, a month later, my husband and I are still out a Keurig and six months of unpaid rent from Kevin.

But, calling the clinic again pretending to be a relative asking “may I speak to Kevin?”

I find out…

“Oh, Kevin doesn’t work here anymore. Didn’t he tell you? He got fired.”

Sheesh. This secretary kind of overshares, but it works out in my favor here.

I also found out by talking to that officer again that the possession of the hard substance paraphernalia was a big misdemeanor.

My husband, who knows about what I did by this time and is fully on board, comes with me to the station and we sign an affidavit regarding what we know about all this crap in the box.

They had contacted Kevin, and under pressure from the police in ours and in his new state he finally admitted that the items were his.

After, of course, trying at first to lie and claim that the substance items were mine and my husband’s.

Scumbag.

So now the misdemeanors are on his permanent record, rendering him unemployable in his field.

We also found out his address, and he was served with papers for small claims court for several months’ worth of rent, theft, and damages.

He was a no-show.

Automatic victory for us.

We’re not holding our breath for this loser to actually pay us, but still, it felt good to win.

My husband and I went to the bar where Kevin used to work, and since she recognized me, the new bartender girl gave me a big hug.

I admitted I wasn’t a partner of Kevin’s but that he was a tenant who screwed over my husband and me.

The girl thought that what I did was great to get him busted. Speaking of busted, he was charged with possession at his new apartment and is in jail.

She did say, aren’t you scared he’ll come back to get revenge?

My husband laughed and said “I hope he does, because if he tries anything…I’mma break his freaking jaw. You’re friends with him on social media. You can tell him, I’m waiting.”

Little 130 pound cracked out midget Vanilla Ice-looking goof lol I hope they have social media in prison.”

3. Harass Me Into Quitting The Company? Let The Investigations Begin!

“I used to work for a popular blue and yellow electronics retailer. My first store was great, my general manager was great, and my coworkers were amazing. Unfortunately, I had to move for family reasons and transferred to another store. I quickly found out that the GM was one of the sorriest people on the planet.

He was a very lazy person and generally spent all day in the store’s “sales development room” with the door locked. Only a few other managers had a key and you could only get in if you went through one of them first.

It almost felt like trying to get face time with a wannabe mob boss.

He was also a big fan of the book 48 laws of power, quoted it frequently, and made his other managers read the book. I read it myself out of curiosity and was mostly disgusted because I could really see some of the “laws” shining through in the way he ran his store.

(Example: #7, Let others do the work for you but always take credit) If you go and read the 48 laws, you can get a really good idea of the type of person this man was. He used a lot of power-based mind tricks and was very manipulative.

Anyway, fast forward about a month, and corporate staff were in the store. They were walking the floor and talking to employees, and they talked to me. They asked how long I had worked there and I said I was a transfer.

They said, “Oh, well which store did you like better, this one or your old one?”

I answered the question honestly, and I told them I liked my old store. This seemed to interest them and they asked why, and without directly talking crap about anyone I honestly told them that I felt the leadership in this store was lacking compared to my old one and gave a few examples.

I DID NOT do this to be hateful…they seemed genuinely interested in seeing what was going on and were looking for suggestions on how to improve the company at this level, and I was giving my honest feedback.

The next day I came into work, I was told by the AP (asset protection guy at the door) that the GM wanted to see me when I got there.

So I went into the office with him and he and my direct manager really laid into me for what I said.

I am typically not someone who lets confrontation bother me, but I was almost in tears when I left this office.

He was literally in my face, demanding to know why I felt like I should tell corporate that he ran his store like crap (that’s not what I said). I told him I just was being honest, he told me I had disrespected him.

We went in circles for a bit and he told me to go home for the rest of today and think about whether I wanted to continue working in a store I thought was run so poorly.

I went home and I almost quit that day, because I felt like the whole conversation was inappropriate.

I was shaking with anger on the way home, all I had done was give my honest answer when asked by a corporate staff member. I almost called the store to say I wouldn’t be coming back, but I needed the job and decided to at least wait until I found something else.

Within a week I found myself getting two written warnings, and I knew they were targeting me because of what happened. Once was for being “late” by 8 minutes, which is funny because our store typically has a 10-minute grace period, and another was for a customer complaint that baffles me.

Apparently, a customer complained to my GM that I was rude, and it caused them not to purchase that day, and when I asked exactly what they said, I was only given very vague statements about my attitude being bad. They couldn’t tell me exactly what words the customer took offense to, and I believe they made this up as an excuse to write me up.

At this point, I became fed up and I did quit my job. I blew up on one of the supervisors (to my regret, but a lot had been building at that point) and I said I wouldn’t be back. Screw it, I would just find another job as soon as I could.

At home, I was still mad and began plotting my revenge. The thing that really burned me up about the attendance write-up was the fact that the manager who wrote me up for it had horrible attendance himself. He and the GM were close friends, and he was frequently late for work or just didn’t come in at all.

I know a lot of people were frustrated with him because even supervisors and managers would complain about having to cover for him when I worked there.

I decided to submit an anonymous complaint to HR. First, I waited for about a month so it wouldn’t be obvious it was me.

My mindset was, “you wanna write me up I’ll get you written up.” So in my complaint, I simply stated that this manager missed work all the time, and nothing ever happened to him because he was friends with the GM and that I didn’t think it was fair that other employees got written up for attendance when he didn’t seem to have to follow an attendance policy at all.

I soon heard the news from one of the friends I’d managed to make in my short time there, that the manager I had complained about had been fired pretty soon after I made the complaint.

This surprised me because at the most I thought he would just get written up and my GM would get in trouble for not holding everyone accountable equally.

Apparently, there had been a couple of other complaints before mine, and this manager and GM were already being suspected of attendance violations. Managers are salaried, which means they get paid no matter how many hours they work (or don’t work).

He had missed so many days that a case had been made for him stealing time. The district manager had supposedly investigated and found no violation.

When I did my complaint, I used the hotline so it went directly to corporate and over the district manager’s head.

They sent someone to investigate, and as a result of what they found gave that manager a choice to resign now or be suspended pending investigation for time theft. Long story short, he resigned and the GM got written disciplinary action.

From what I understand the DM came under fire as well, because shortly after all this happened she came to the store and went around speaking to the employees directly, asking them if everything was going well and telling them she hoped they understood if there were ever any issues, they could email her directly instead of involving corporate.

It was incredibly satisfying and more than I ever expected.”

2. Be A Terrible Guest? I'll Make Your Stay Here Just As Miserable As You Are

Pexels

“I worked at this hotel for over 2 years and was one of two people left that went through the training when our hotel changed hotel franchises. During this training, we were told about certain rules the company had.

One afternoon I was scheduled to work second shift 3-11.

I walked in and both AM front desk co-workers looked like they had been massively crying as their makeup was smeared. My manager looking quite ticked off. I ask, “What’s wrong?”

Manager: “We have a major jerk as a guest. This guy is the highest level on the rewards for the hotel chain.

He is very demanding and wants free upgrades free this or that and screams anytime he has an interaction with the staff. This guy has made every department call me complaining about him. Now this guy just came to the desk and screamed at these two co-workers until they both were crying.” These two ladies were fresh high school graduates and were very sweet and innocent people.

They loved helping people and didn’t deserve this treatment.

As he is explaining this, I look up this guy’s room details. Once my manager finishes explaining everything this guy had done. I see this guy’s info I had a smile from ear to ear.

I reply, “Didn’t you see he is an employee of a different hotel?”

Manager, “Yes, but so what?”

I replied “First off while you travel as an employee you are required to behave and be respectful. It is in the fine print on the discount form.” I grabbed his form and showed it to the manager.

“Failure to be respectful can lead to having your employee discount suspended or permanently revoked, and even get you terminated. You need to call this guy’s hotel and ask for the GM, then explain to him who you are and what this guy is doing.” I look up the hotel phone number and call the hotel and then handed my manager the phone.

Manager after his call ends with the GM, has an evil and satisfying smile on his face. “His GM is steaming mad after I described all the stuff this guy has done.”

Main switchboard phone rings. I answered, “Hello thank you for calling hotel name, how may I direct your call?”

Caller: “I want to speak to Entitled Jerk’s room please.”

I replied, “absolutely sir have a nice day.” Transfer the call and looked at my manager and said with a sarcastic tone “Someone wanted to talk to Entitled Jerk gee I wonder who that could be.”

Manager continues after he stopped laughing, “The GM gave me his personal cell phone number and said if I have any more issues at all to call him immediately.

I am leaving the phone number next to the switchboard, if you need it, call him.”

I told manager “Your revenge is done, now for my revenge.”

Manager wide-eyed, “Oh crap what are you going to do.”

Me smiling a very evil smile “You’ll see.”

I pick up the phone to make a call “Hello hotel rewards customer service.

Yes, I would like to report someone using reward account while using employee discount on his stay.”

Customer Service: “He can’t do that!!”

I replied, “I know I am calling to report him.” I gave her the guest reservation number and rewards member number.

I continued “I bet anything if you dig through this guy’s history you will find all his stays are probably at employee discount.”

Customer Service: “I am starting a ticket to have this guy’s account investigated.”

I replied, “Thank you.” Then hang up the phone.

The manager watched as I then remove his rewards number from his stay.

My manager had a huge grin on his face “That was awesome!”

I explain “Oh I am not quite finished with him yet; it is time to go spread the news to all departments that he is no longer a rewards member.” I made a new key for his room without Concierge access.

I walked around to every department, as I explained why I was stopping by everyone had the same reaction as soon as I mentioned the guy’s name. “Oh god now what about this jerk.” I finished explaining how he was no longer a reward member and that if he gives anyone issues to call the front desk immediately and his GM already probably tore him a new one just a min ago.

Everyone was so happy at this news. I finally went to the concierge room and used the guest new key to void his current key. Then I walked into the room and explained the information to the evening concierge. She cringed at the mention of his name, after explaining she would not have to deal with him again and asked her to leave the morning person a note about this guy not being allowed in the concierge room anymore.

She was very happy.

While I was gone evidently the manager explained what we did to the 2 AM Front desk ladies. The minute I got back to the desk both my front desk co-workers all came up to me and gave me a huge hug and thanked me so many times.

Manager to me after the other co-workers went home: “Do me a huge favor please.”

I replied, “Sure what’s up.”

Manager, “If I ever tick you off, please come tell me so I can fix the issue.”

Later that night entitled jerk comes to the desk hat in hand politely saying his key doesn’t work.

I replied, “Oh so sorry about that let me make you a new key.” In the best fake smile I can muster.

Aftermath: Next day I check his rewards account and it is now suspended. Check back next week “Sorry account number not found.””

1. Bully Me Relentlessly? I'll Make Sure You Get Sent To Summer School

“So it was freshman year in high school, and there was this guy, we’ll call him Tim.

Tim was your average bully I guess, always making fun of me and other kids, getting in trouble a lot, smokes, all that.

The guy had been messing with me all year, but there were two points I remember clearly.

He once tried to push me down the stairs after we got out of lunch. I managed to catch myself in time, but my phone slipped from my hand and broke. He just laughed and walked away.

I’m kind of timid by nature, so I never told anyone but my family, and my parents were angry because it was a brand new phone (happened around January/February and I had just gotten the phone for Christmas).

My sister who was a senior at the time threatened to beat the daylight out of him (she would have, she doesn’t mess around if there’s any immediate danger to me). I was able to calm them down enough for them not to call the school as I didn’t want any attention on me.

I was also always told in middle school to work out problems with other people on my own, ’cause when you become an adult, you can’t go running to the teacher.

There was also a time when we were sitting in English (I shared most of my classes with him unfortunately), and he was itching to fight to blow off some steam.

So, he asked me to punch him so he wouldn’t get in trouble for starting a fight. When I refused, he waited until the teacher was distracted and then clocked me on the head.

I pride myself on being able to take hits well (don’t ask why), so it’s not like it did any real damage.

Or at least, it didn’t feel too bad, but it must have been though since I started bleeding afterward. I also had a heck of a headache afterward, but I again didn’t tell the teacher and just hid my wound for the day.

I told my family again, and my sister really wanted to beat the crap out of him. I was able to calm her again and avoided that crisis.

Then came June.

For time frame reference, my sister had officially graduated by this point, already looking at colleges and having existential crises.

It was finals week, and Tim was getting aggravated by all the prepping for the tests, as they hadn’t happened yet. I had to wear a nice-looking suit that day for a big Chorus event that we had that day, and Chorus was right after lunch.

Tim decided during that lunch that it would be a fun idea to begin throwing food at me.

Well, it’s not like he just decided then, it was a growing thing throughout the year. I was sitting at the same table as him because my friends were his friends, so we ended up together a lot.

Anyway, he threw a small thing of mayonnaise at me and ruined my suit.

Physical pain and wounds are one thing, I can heal from those. Breaking my phone is another, at least it’s still usable.

Ruining a snazzy suit, that I was really proud of, and making me draw attention to myself by asking for a new one from my Chorus teacher?

Now I’m livid.

So the next day, he was throwing food around again, and it kept hitting me again. I was still angry from yesterday, so getting apples thrown at me constantly didn’t help the situation. I somehow managed to ignore it for the first quarter of lunch until I got an angry tap on my shoulder.

I take my earbuds out and look up from my (still broken) phone. Every person at the table is pointing at me, and the lunch lady screams in my face that I have to clean up a big ‘ole stain on the wall (not sure stain is the right word, but it’s a stain now at least).

I somehow manage to convince her that I wasn’t the one who made the stain and I heard that Tim was the one who made the mess. I tell her this, and she forces him to clean it up. That wasted the next two-quarters of his lunch, and he was then royally livid when he came back.

He glared at me the whole time and followed closely behind me when we were getting out of lunch.

I was able to tell he was following me because I was ‘on my phone.’ In actuality, I was actually keeping an eye on him with my phone screen.

He was glaring at the back of my head like an enraged ape or something, so I knew he was planning to do something.

We reached the stairs, and he decided to push me again. In that slight moment between me getting pushed and me actually falling, I had a split-second choice to make.

Do I let myself fall, or not?

This was all kind of speeding around in my head at the time, so I’m not sure what the exact thought process was, but I had already begun reaching out to the railing to stop myself from falling.

I believe the process went something along the lines of, “if I do let myself fall, there’s substantial proof that I was bullied, and the school would have to believe me.”

So, I let myself fall, and my phone, as I was still holding it out, completely broke, and I also hit my nose badly and it started bleeding.

My nose bleeds often though, and the phone was also almost completely dead in the water anyway (that’s why I switched to Android after). Luckily, there was no one in front of me when it happened, so no one else got hurt.

If there was someone else there, I like to believe I wouldn’t let my desire for revenge get out of hand and let them get hurt, but those are quandaries for another day.

I hit the bottom, and this is when I found out that I’m at least a decent actor.

See, like I said earlier, my nose bleeds a lot, and also I have a high pain tolerance. I really didn’t feel anything at all. It certainly hurt less than I thought marble stairs would hurt. Couldn’t say the same for my phone though…

After I hit the bottom, I heard everything around me go silent, and then the next thing I know, I got people all over me making sure I’m okay and asking what happened. I manage to see Tim slink away from the scene in the opposite direction he usually goes, but because of the people now crowding me, I couldn’t see his face or anything.

My friend, who’s the size of a gosh darn forklift, helps me up and asked what happened. I tell him that I was pushed by Tim, and he goes off in another direction.

The other people around me heard what I had said, and one of them went to go get my coach.

Now, my coach is a great guy. At the beginning of each year, he has this long speech about how he despises bullying and how if he ever catches wind of any bullying going on, he’ll do his darnedest to figure it out.

He shows up in record time, and I tell him what happened. I’m actually feeling guilty by this point because I didn’t want a teacher involved, and I didn’t really want him to get in trouble kind of. I also kind of did want him to get in trouble, but that part of my mind was all gone by this point, from seeing some people berate him before he left the scene.

So, I basically said, “I don’t want him to get in trouble,” in a long convoluted way. My coach said, “either you come with me to the office to report this, or I’m going myself.”

I decided to go with him, as it gave me some time away from Math.

The next day, Tim is nowhere to be seen, and conveniently enough, it was the first day of testing. I get through all my finals, and about a week later, he shows up for the last two days of school. I may, or may not have gotten a bit of glee from watching him as he was told he missed his finals and had to make them up in summer school.

That’s the last I see of him for the rest of the school year, but I know that next year even though we shared classes again, it was only one this time and he never even acknowledged my existence.

I’ve heard he got arrested recently though, but I’m not sure how that happened.

Either way, I got my revenge, and I haven’t been messed with since. Not by him, not by anyone.

Maybe that’s because I managed to befriend a bunch of jocks in Sophomore year though…”
