Groom Steps Onto The Dance Floor With His Mom And They Bring Down The House

While a wedding ceremony may be the time to respect tradition and formally tie the knot, it’s the reception that gets a creative license! As long as it makes the newlyweds happy, whatever they say goes.

And in this case, groom Jared Dauenhauer had the perfect creative idea for the age-old tradition of the mother and son dance.

He wanted to pull some strings to make this really memorable, and he succeeded with flying colors.

Whether you’re planning your own unique dance for a wedding, or you just want to be entertained by a really well put-together dance clip, you’re in for a treat. Get ready for a really sweet and super creative dancefloor ensemble!

Meet Jared and AlLee Dauenhauer:

This is the happy couple on their wedding day July 5, 2014.

They are automatically cool because they build and create escape rooms with their best friends!

Yes, actually! They create and design themed rooms equipped with challenging puzzles, mysteries clues, and more, where “Unlocking a door will never feel the same again!” So right off the bat, you just know that their wedding is going to be a hoot!

After Jared and AlLee danced their first dance, it was time for the mother-son dance:

Jared and his mom, Mary K made their way to the dance floor and started dancing to Celine Dion’s classic “Because You Love Me.” It was a precious moment, symbolizing the eternal love of a mother for her son.

But then the music stopped, and both mom and son look confused…

…but not too confused! These two know exactly what’s going on. They’ve been planning for a while!

Jared slyly handed his mother a pair of shades. It’s officially GO TIME!

The two are getting ready to show off their epic dance moves, but no one has a clue!

Remember Saturday Night Fever?

The nice slow music is suddenly replaced with the white-hot ’70s classic, “Stayin’ Alive,” by the Bee Gees, and made famous by the movie starring John Travolta.

Look at these two pull off the same iconic, disco-era moves:

Mom Mary K, who lives in Michigan, spent countless hours coordinating with Jared who lives in Jackson, Tennessee, over Facetime, to come up with the jaw-dropping choreography.

Jared and his mom owned the floor and really just wanted to have fun with it:

In an interview with WBBJ-TV, Jared says, “We just tried to have fun with it. So it was kind of some of the stuff we saw in other wedding videos we saw online. And the rest of it was like how can I get my mom to try to dance hip hop.” Jared told the station.

And no dance routine is complete without:

Some moves from Psy’s “Gangnam Style.” Other honorable mentions include: MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” Family Force’s “Chainsaw,” and more.

Yep, mom and son slayed it and were met with a big round of applause! But let’s not forget about the happy couple:

We wish them a very happy ever after! Look at how cute they are! And there’s no denying how fun they are too. In the WBBJ-TV interview, Jared’s wife, AlLee, was in on the secret too. “I just liked that it was a surprise that people didn’t know it was coming, also I think the ‘Stanky Leg’ part his mom kept calling it the ‘Janky Leg,’” she said.
