Students Wave At Grandma Every Day. But See What They Do When Her Window Is Empty…

Whenever the students riding bus 7 in Arlington, Washington passed by 98-year-old Louise Edlen’s home, she would give them a wave. It was a brief but warm tradition that went on for five years. Louise became known as the “grandma in the window.” But one morning in September , the children passed by Louise’s home and the window was empty. “It was kind of heartbreaking because she was always there,” 7th grader Axtin Bandewerfhorst told KING5 News. [googlead]”Carol [the bus driver] was telling us that a lot of times she doesn’t remember her daughter’s name, but she always remembers to wave to the kids on the bus.” Not long after, they learned that Louise was in the hospital after suffering from a stroke. Saddened by this news, the children decided to do something special for their “grandma.”
