You may or may not remember the optical illusion posters that were fairly popular about 20 years ago. They were large posters made up repeating patterns and were often brightly colored. If you stared at them long enough and with just the right squint of your eyes or tilt to your head, a large 3D image would appear. Something like a lion, a flower, or a building. If you changed your way of looking at the poster for even a second, the image would disappear as quickly as it popped out. At first, I found these posters endlessly frustrating, but then I learned the technique and could discern the 3D image almost immediately. Then, I realized that looking at these posters gave me a headache. Perhaps that’s why they’re no longer popular.
Different optical illusions are still popular. Headache or no headache, the 19 optical illusions on this list are definitely cool.
1. It May Look Like An Accident…
The first time you see it, this video is terrifying to watch. The car appears to be speeding towards cement pylons. It’s going to make a huge mess when the car hits them, but it just speeds right over. I’m still not entirely sure how this works.
2. Dancing Almonds
Do those look like almonds to you? They certainly look like almonds to me. Like happy, dancing almonds. Can’t see it? Just move your eyes a bit and those little almonds will start to dance! Look at them for too long and you might start dancing too.
3. I Have No Idea How They Did This
We’ve all seen photos that use perspective to create a similar effect. For example, a vacation photo in which a young lady stands in the foreground, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. She holds her palm up and appears to hold the tower in her hand. It’s a simple but effective trick. This must be something similar, but I can’t figure out exactly how they accomplished it.
4. Amazing Water Reflection
They’re not stuck to the ceiling. This photo is merely a trick using the water reflection.
