Okay, I know crate training can be a controversial topic among dog lovers. On one side, you have people that believe that crates are basically tiny jail cells that cruelly confine dogs and restrict their freedom. On the other side, you have people that believe that crates are invaluable training and emergency safety tools that are perfectly acceptable because they play to a dog’s natural instinct to find a safe escape in the form of a small den.
Well, regardless of what side of the debate you’re on, you’re going to want to check out this video of an adorable Maltese puppy named Sophie and her flabbergasted human named Julie.
At bedtime, Julie would put Sophie in her crate. But whenever Julie came back to let her out, she would find Sophie running around her home, playing with her 6.5-year-old German Shepherd sibling named Twitch.
Julie chalked up the escapes to her simply forgetting to latch the crate. But after several incidents Julie refused to believe that she could be that forgetful and she suspected that something else was going on. Accordingly, she decided to set up a camera to record what was happening while Sophie was supposedly locked in her crate.
