There’s something particularly satisfying about building something with your own two hands, so it’s really no wonder that DIY projects have really been booming. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a very crafty person, you can most definitely jump in on this trend. The good people of the internet have made it easier than ever to learn how to make things at home so you can save money, be creative, and create something truly unique and personal. Amy from Her Tool Belt is one of these good people, and if you like gardening, you’re definitely going to love this stunner of a project!
Amy made her very own DIY Cascading Flower Pallet Planter Box, and she’s taken us all along for the ride. It certainly looks a bit strange at the start but the end result is simply stunning!
“I used a 2″ hole saw to drill holes for the petunias … spacing the holes about every 6″ or so.”
The holes let the soil get dry easily so make sure to water the flowers every day. Fertilizing once a week will also really help!
“It was the really hot part of the summer and the foliage was very green and pretty, but no flowers. Realized I needed to spray for bugs and the flowers came back.”
I never would have guessed that this would be the end result from a simple planter box. I can’t wait to give this a try!
