The reason he won't try "just one bite" is because you are fully expecting him to have some sort of food epiphany and stop eating ketchup on everything you cook, it's a miracle your amazing cooking cured him of his disgusting need to ruin all his food, imagine the bragging rights you'll earn.
Yeah I thought the same thing, but as another user pointed out, perhaps this a localized Canadian viewpoint lol
Usually the first tenant is only renting a room out to the second tenant but if the second tenant was added to the lease then I guess they would have to cede equal rights. It does seem rude and entitled to me to take priority over an apartment that another person originally sourced.
