Something I noticed here—you went to ask him what pasta he would prefer when you already had a strong preference, and then contradicted his answer when he gave it. It all escalated from there. Yes, his behavior and response were crappy, and there’s plenty of stuff that’s inequitable in your relationship. But in this one part of the communication, you could do better. If you want the mac n cheese, you can choose to cook it without asking him. But the way you phrased this, it sounds like you went to him wanting him to choose, he chose, and then you wanted the other pasta. Frustrating for him, yeah? He needs to respond better but it’s fair to feel some frustration so long as he’s not a jerk about it.
