I'm not saying you should have asked if you could go. I'm saying who doesn't discuss stuff like that with their SO ahead of time? Ya know... Hey hunny, I'm going on a trip with my family, so I won't be around for a while. It's common sense & I can't believe the number of idiots who haven't realized that. Communication is key in any relationship & she was not communicating. Smh
