I don't blame you, you're not the jerk, maybe suggest they come back when you weren't alone, that's not too much to ask, maybe she should've took pictures of the yard so she could look at it anytime she wanted, a little bazaar but I too like to ride around and reminisce but id never want to actually go beyond what I could see from the road unless I personally knew the people, asking complete strangers something of this would be awkward.

common sense, you shouldnt need advice for something as common as asking someone to please knock before entering your personal space, even a small post on the door, please knock before entering, no, youre not a jerk, i dont walk into anyones bedroom without knocking no matter who they are. simple
